The Rose And Crown

What a great pub!!! All the nooks and crannies, all the great (dizzy blonde) ale, all the great food, all the lovely staff especially the French waiter who says “bon appetites” when serving your meal makes for a perfect evening �

We visited on Saturday on our first visit to Ulverston. It was the carnival.

My sister and I were served by a very nice and pleasant barman who explained he had only 4 bottles of Crabbies left. We bought 2 and asked for the other two to be saved for later.

Served in plastic glasses so we could go and sit outside.

Fantastic service and a very busy pub.

We didn't eat in the restaurant but the food looked very good.

We visited here after going to the Safari Park. This was a little life saver. We were wet, muddy and tired. The staff were very welcoming and made conversation. It had a log fire burning away. The food was amazing and we got huge portions of tasty, quality food! Would highly recommend x

The best meal today the most beautiful sea bass cooked to perfection and tasted beautiful. Brilliant friendly service too thank you.

The Sunday Roast was excellent as well as good value for money on offer with 2 courses for £10.95. A nice traditional pub serving excellent food and beers with brilliant staff. Please put the Cumberland sausage back on the menu though �

The Rose and Crown has become a favourite with us for a family meet ups so was the perfect choice for celebrating a joint birthday get together. Even though There was 8 of us the service from the staff was faultless and the food was, as always excellent. They even helped with bringing out a birthday cake. I can honestly say that whenever we go to the Rose and Crown for food we always come out and say 'that was an excellent meal '

Ordered medium rare sirloin steak last night and it was the best steak I have had in ages! Definitely 1000 times better than the new Steakhouse Dalton, service was great too!Thank you �

Nearly always eat there when we visit Ulverston and as it was my birthday went overboard and had a starter as well. Only complaint about the Garlic King Prawns was could do with some bread/toast. Also the steak and ale pie, whilst excellent taste and amount is technically just dish of steak with bit of puff pastry on top so pie lovers beware. Saying all that won't stop me from giving excellent review as no place is ever perfect. Staff are always very friendly.

Lunch at The Rose and Crown in Ulverston was fantastic. Food was superb, we had the 2 meals for £14 deal and the amount of chicken in the curry was phenomenal and the Apple crumble was to die for. Staff were very polite and didn't even ask to swipe your card for a tab she just said we trust you. All in all don't miss it if your in the area.

Lovely pub! Delicious baguettes for lunch and an excellent range of well-kept Robinsons' beers. Very friendly staff too - it's so nice to be greeted by a smile from the manager as well as the staff serving you!

Love this pub, I live in Whitehaven, my partner in Barrow in Furness, excellent food and staff are very polite and friendly, on my first visit off the specials board I had different fish Cooke together in foil, it was Devine!! Better than I have had in top restaurants! More fish on the menu would be nice as I don't eat meat. Highly recommend this pub

It was my friend Jeans hen night yesterday we started off at the Farmers Arms with a fabulous Sunday Roast which was excellent then moved on to the Rose and Crown the staff were amazing could not do enough for us and later on in the evening they put some dance music on for us we had a ball danced till midnight the atmosphere was amazing thanks for making Jeans night a memorable one.

I had the steak & mushroom with onions on a Jacket potato it was lovely. Couldn't complain place was busy yet we only waited 10 mins or so meals all looked well presented I was really impressed.

Happy happy happy staff pleasant helpful cottage clean comfy no complaints maybe slightly expensive for one night but in the grand scheme of things worth it really could have paid £60 or £80 in a hotel but the cottage was worth it really so I would go again benefits of. cottage could wake up at 10 o clock and cook my own breakfast plus didn’t have to sit with other people eating so it was probley worth it felt more like a break as I didn’t have to leap out of bed so worth it really carnt moan really I was trying to moan but failed so WORTH IT 👌🥂😂🙈🐵

Great little place the food and service were outstanding a rustic bygone little pub with loads of history would recommend a visit or two.

Came to the rose and Crown a small quirky pub in Ulverston on Sunday for a pre mothers day meal as on holiday on Mothers day. We pre booked as we know it can get busy. We were shown to our table and given menus. 3 of us went for the roast dinner and desert and 1 for the steak and ale pie which the order was taken by a very lovely guy called Threlly (Threlfall). Our meal arrived quickly and all 4 proved to be a great choice the meal was very tasty and plentiful and vedge was cooked to perfection nice and crunchy. Overall the service we received was excellent from the staff and the food was of a high standard not just any old boaring roast dinner and apple crumble to die for it was all delish. Well done and thankyou for a lovely dining experience

Came to day with 4 residents with learning disabilities and another staff member. Not only was the food outstanding but the service from the 2 lads behind the bar 1 was called Josh but didn't get the others name was fantastic. Had a right laugh with the guys we brought it and made to feel extremely welcome. The guys can't wait to come back for a visit thankyou for the outstanding hospitality! X
