User

What a super place! Lovely that dogs are welcome too & a jar of gravy bones is a nice touch 😊 lovely staff, great delicious home cooked food - can thoroughly recommend!

User

Visited here today. Lovely vegan food. Lovely people. Lovely place. Highly recommend.

User

Very stylish, high attention to detail in the deco, delicious cakes and pies, very attentive and friendly welcome! Don’t miss this gem !

User

This place is absolutely fabulous, on a freezing cold day the stove was roaring, heating on, it was so cosy and warm. Staff were very obliging and friendly. Pies and quiches were delicious and cake was scrumptious. Very reasonably priced for delicious, well presented food. The views across the hills are stunning. The cafe is disabled friendly and the toilets are very clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated. This cafe gets 10 out of 10 from us and 11 out of 10 from Mary Wilkinson, my very particular 86 year old mother-in-law. It's in a great location for bikers and walkers. We will be back for more, just riding our bikes there next time. Awesome place, cannot recommend it enough!!

User

Really tasty cake, lovely atmosphere. Great little band playing and owner couldn’t be nicer.

User

Owned by a passionate cyclist with super friendly staff and THE most amazing flapjack! If Carlsberg did Cycling cafes....

User

Me and my dogs are always made to feel welcome. Just what you need after a long walk! Great scones, cakes and savouries to accompany a wide variety of hot and cold beverages. Lovely and cosy inside when it’s too chilly or wet to sit out. Some great gifts available to purchase including lovely locally made natural candles and skin care products. This cafe just gets better!

User

Lovely warm welcome from staff aswell as open coal fires. The food was delicious, homemade and very resonably priced. They didn't mind dirty boots and very importantly it was 'dog friendly' and provided water and treats for doggy visitors.

User

Lovely lunch at The Rusty Bike today with Mum, we stayed ages for tea and cake too, to really put the world to rights

User

Hot pie & fresh salad coffee and cake

User

Great quirky cafe. Staff so friendly. Indoor/outdoor eating with car park at rear. Considering this is an ideal cafe for cyclists and walkers and dogs are welcome, the place is immaculate. The scones are delicious and the cakes look lush. Good old Yorkshire Tea, herbal teas and variants of coffee. Soup was also available. Also sell fresh local organic eggs, milk, honey, ice cream and snacks.

We went on a Tuesday lunchtime, plenty of staff to cater for customers orders, good to see this and hence no long queues.

Highly recommend this cafe if you just want soup or cake and coffee/tea. Also a jar of free doggy treats is available so that your pooch isn't left out.

I wonder whether they are limited to what they can sell food wise as there is a pub up the road that does sandwiches and cooked food, and although good, I found to be a bit pricey.

Shall be back soon. Thanks for making our visit a pleasurable one!

User

Great place to call in when you are anywhere near Swainby. They serve delicious homemade food - soups, scones, cakes etc. pots of tea and coffee. Such a pleasure to meet their friendly welcoming staff. Paintings by local artist, (Jane Kitching) and her greetings cards on sale - along with jars of local honey and gifts for cyclists! Bike hire for the energetic. Go and see for yourselves......

User

Great coffee shop with lovely rustic feel. Cool inside on a very hot day but seating available outside too. There was a good selection of very tasty cakes and the coffee and good old Yorkshire tea were delicious too. We were just having tea and cake but there seemed to be a good selection of other food, ice cream etc too. Highly recommended!

User

Came in today absolutely lovely scones and coffee sat outside in the sun fabulous view friendly staff will call again

User

Bacon sandwich was a wow, washed down with a gorgeous latte and a wonderful view of the hills from cafe window. Will be back

User

Another great visit today by Motley Mutt Moochers. Excellent fare and friendly staff make this an ideal place to visit after a good walk.

User

A perfect place to stop off for coffee and cakes. Almost missed it driving past but was blown away by what was inside. A real treat here! Great atmosphere, relaxed, real attention to detail and fabulous views. Loved the interior design. Staff really friendly and welcoming. A delicious range of homemade goodies on offer. Treat yourself to a jar of Helen Hughes' locally produced honey sold here - it's amazing! Can't wait to go back!

You don’t have to be a pedal biker to

enjoy the Rusty Bike, although it make make it an even better experience. I have visited it on my motor bike and car and found it a very friendly place with sensible prices. If you are in the area give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

User

Our first ever bike ride over to the cafe today from Newton Aycliffe. Really enjoyed the ride out and the cafe is a very nice destination. The only black mark was that the rest of my group had finished their food and I was still waiting for my bacon sandwich. I asked the young lad at the counter what was happening and he said it was "on it's way" I waited a while longer and then asked another member of staff to find out what was happening. Apparently the kitchen had not received the order, these things happen but if the young lad on the counter had checked it would have saved me such a long wait. This won't put me off returning as it is a nice cafe and they do have lots of cake
