Me and my friends came from the gay village and ended up in the Shack everyone from the doorman, bar staff and management were amazing and welcoming, cnt wait to try out the food from there hopefully they do king size hot dogs !!

I was lucky enough to win burger and beers for 2. A lovely place with a relaxed atmosphere. The food was great and HUGE portions . It arrived very quickly. Special thanks has to go to our lovely waitress Amy who was exceptionally friendly ...nothing was too much trouble. We will be back and will recommend to friends.

Great food very friendly staff and nice drinks. All round great place. I used to go all over the northern quarter but now stick to the shack most of the time as I know I'll always have a good night in there. Also they have much better deals on than other places in the area and staff will always let you know of the latest things going on 😊

First time we went was for the start of my Son’s stag do!

It was like a scene off Man Vs Food there was 6 of us plenty of room in one of the booths when the food came out (at a 20% reduction - happy hour) there was that many plates two of us moved to the next booth - it was delicious! 2nd time was just last Friday remembering the Heart attack loaded fries (side order) I just had them - still couldn’t finish them as a main- yet again fantastic food had to wait a bit even though it wasn’t busy - going back on the 13th Dec while visiting the Christmas Markets can’t wait to try something else!!!

Don’t judge a book by its cover... recently had a works Christmas meal there, which was booked by our head office so really didn’t know what to expect. When we first went in we thought “oh no” as we had a mix the of ages and it’s very young and loud. However it became evident very early on that the staff were super friendly and went out of there way to make us feel comfortable. We started to order food and again didn’t know what to expect... WOW!! the food was fantastic and we were all super happy and very full when we left. Great value for money, great quality food and a great atmosphere.. 10 out of 10 �

Booking from opentable never came through and with it being a group booking for 12, I feared we would struggle. Bar staff were ever so apologetic and assured us they would remedy the problem. Within 15 minutes we were all sat down with a drink in a cosy booth where we could chat and catch up. Waitress came and took the order including drinks and everything arrived in due course and as ordered.

Forget solita or almost famous, these burgers are the real deal and absolute cracking value for money. Rather than being over priced and leaving you hungry, the food certainly hits the spot. £5 a pint is acceptable for the city and there's a good selection of craft beer too. Selection of spiced rum and gin too is good.

Obviously when we got there had to explain I'd won and every time I went to bar had to explain again which was a bit annoying and this is why 4 star.... however..... we had a great night last night..... the burgers we had were bloody lovely and the portions huge so I'd defiantly recommend the food.... all the cocktails we had were really nice, especially the zombies yummy! We had 1 dodgy cocktail but that was just not to our taste.... good atmosphere and the 1sj was good though we did feel that when we we got there at 6.30pm the music was a tiny bit load for that time so chatting was shouting ha. Staff where really helpful bar 1 at the end of the night who was bit snotty..... other than that the girls that served me where friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great night and will Dec be back for more burgers ���

U must try the hot wings challenge me and some of my Glasgow friends tried it and it’s the hottest wings I’ve ever had but well worth it great atmosphere and food is amazing!!!!!!

Big portions and tasted quite nice apart from my dried up chicken Kiev main course which had been brought the same time as my starter , so it had sat around for twenty minutes

However it was all half price cos of an offer so in that respect what we got was a bargain. My friend loved his steak

We've been sat here since half past six a party of 8 at on a hen do. We have been waiting for an hour for our food and it still hasn't arrived. NON of the staff have come over to apologize or anything, we've been completely ignored/avoided but yet they are more than happy to ask us if we want anymore drinks. Not acceptable at all!

Visited The Shack last night for a friends birthday, the service was awful, one starter arrived after almost an hour of ordering. The other arrived 30 minutes later, followed swiftly by our very average main meal.



The waiters were walking around with food, literally asking people if it was theirs, I watched one meal, literally placed on three different tables, before being returned to the kitchen.



One group of 7 left, as they had been waiting so long, another group of 8, watched one of their party tuck in to a hanging kebab whilst waiting about 40 minutes for the rest of the main meals to arrive.



I wouldn't mind but there were only 8 tables!?!



Anyway, let's say, I won't be eating here again!

Unfortunately my review has nothing to do with the service of this bar, just the homofobic abuse we received whilst walking by on Friday 27th July at 9pm. When walking past Shak, holding my boyfriend's hand, we encounterd heckles from two of the security staff. These people are the face of your brand, your business and the people you employ to oversee the security of your patrons, of which I'm certain some are gay. I think some diversity training is required. I look forward to your responce and would appreciate a detailed explanation of your intentions to prevent any incident of this nature occurring again.

My girlfriend and I dined with you at Shack bar and grill Manchester on Monday afternoon (10th July) and unfortunately our experience did not live up to our expectations.



Firstly, I would like to point out that this is in no way a complaint regarding the level or quality of service we received during our visit. The two young men who served us on Monday were both friendly, polite and courteous.



We decided to dine with you on the recommendation of several family & friends who have all had positive eating experiences at Shack. We were surprised to find that when we ordered our food (2 chicken fajitas) and our drinks (2 pints of Carling) that the total was only £18 because of the 50% off deal you offer on Mondays which was a bonus. We settled down to our table, which was well appointed, and waited for our food. We both throughly enjoyed our chicken fajitas, which came highly recommended by the bar tender, and left Shack after our first meal there feeling satisfied with the food and quality of service re had received. We both agreed that we'd return to sample other things on the menu.



Unfortunately this feeling did not last long. That evening both myself and my girlfriend experienced violent sickness, vomiting and diarrhoea. We were both unable to attend work the following day. And worse than this, my girlfriend had to attend casualty with her symptoms which were confirmed as severe food poisoning. My girlfriend still has not returned to work and won't until at least Monday. I have returned to work only today as I would have been unpaid for a third day otherwise. Neither of us expected this and have been left feeling quite angry and hurt about the situation we have been left in.



Instead of airing our views and bad experience on social media, we are giving you the opportunity to respond before we write any reviews or leave comments on Twitter/ Facebook as we have only ever heard good things about your establishment.



I would like to know how you think we can go forward from here as I'm sure you'll agree, my girlfriend and I feel very aggrieved by what has happened.



Please contact myself as soon as possible in order for us to try to repair this situation.
