Dogs 4 rescue is where we found our Micky, a superb and worthy charity that does so much good not just for dogs but any animal in need. Any help you can give for this charity will help people like us be rewarded with a friend who can put a smile on anybody's face :)

Our Guest this week is an award winning strong, satisfying ale, wonderfully warming and full of complex flavours, which create an intriguing beer of great character. This dark beer with a reddish tinge, derived from the use of coloured malts, perfectly balanced with specially formulated brewing sugars and English aromatic hops.
First introduced in 1990 as a winter warmer, Jennings Sneck Lifter has become a firm favourite in the portfolio. Sneck Lifter won bronze awards in 201...1 in both the International Beer Challenge and the Brewing Industry International Awards. In 2013 it won a silver award from CAMRA for Champion Winter Beer of Britain (Regional and National). A bronze award from the International Beer Challenge in 2013 and more recently a silver award in the tasting category of the International Beer Challenge 2014 - 5.1% abv.
In northern dialect sneck means door latch and a sneck lifter was a man’s last sixpence which enabled him to lift the latch of a pub door and buy himself a pint, hoping to meet friends there who might treat him to one or two more.

The first of our regular Pub Quiz nights will be held at The Tavern on Tuesday the 24th July. Bring your friends along for a bit of fun, questions will be from a variety of categories with something for everyone.

This week's guest is an award winning beer. Wainwright The Golden Beer. A refreshingly rewarding crafted golden beer, a superb thirst quenching, refreshing beer packed full of flavour, lightly hopped with subtle sweet notes and a delicate citrus aroma. Inspired by the author Alfred Wainwright, famous for his Lakeland Fell guide books. For every summit Wainwright conquered through his passion and commitment, each one delivered the ultimate reward.
