Our favourite pub. Friendly staff; great beer, food and location. Had my first 'bottle of pop' and crisps there as a child 43 years ago and have frequented this pub ever since!

User

Lovely atmosphere and great food! The food was worth the wait and it gave me and my wife some time to sit anf chat and enjoy a glass of wine before it arrived. Young lady who served up was very friendly and always willing to help. A lovely evening enjoyed with good food.

User

Just had a brilliant meal, eaten far too much. everything was excellent and the staff were so friendly and helpful,Ramona in particular. A lovely lady, mand our evening.

Thank you so much

I don't normally do reviews but felt i needed to for these guys... We stopped on a complete whim as it was by a lock and on our way home but were so glad we did.

They were near the end of a very busy day but a) sorted me a veggie roast - even though they were out they were happy to swap a side in with all the other trimmings; and b) the spring greens - and everything else, but ESPECIALLY the spring greens - were cooked perfectly! The woman behind the bar was also more understanding with my moany daughter than I was!!

User

Highly recommend this stunning gastro pub! Not only did Dave the chef and Ramona the waitress come to my aid when I was seriously flagging and in need of urgent food, it was delicious , fresh and fabulous.

I’m a local and ALWAYS recommend this place for a family roast of romantic meal. I’m also vegan and they have a separate menu ! Win win in my eyes . I’m lucky to have this pub so close.

User

Highly recommend this pub - situated in an attractive location on the Grand Union and tastefully decorated. It offers a great menu catering for all dietary requirements including a dedicated vegan menu - we had the chickpea and mushroom penne pasta which was great. The staff were friendly and attentive - particularly Ramona and Simon - and there's an added bonus of live music on Friday nights from about 9pm onwards. A thoroughly enjoyable evening!

User

Excellent service from all the staff. In particular the young girl from Poland (really sorry if I got that wrong). Excellent fish and chips (it was Friday!), great beer. Plus, as ever, a fantastic location ( they can hardly move it).

User

Every time we visit from the US, we make it a point to pop in for a pint and enjoy the Locks! my dad came here as a kid on his motorcycle from Bletchley. I have been visiting since I was 3 years old. now 53

Sunny 15th May evening, with nibbles and drinks. Busy but not crowded with plenty of seating outside and in. Took a little while to get serviced the the bar as all staff were serving food (no one behind the bar) food was good we had the sharers. Good value and did not take long to come out. Thanks for a good evening.

User

My 1st visit to the pub yesterday with a friend who has been more than once. Very expensive drinks. We paid £18 for a house gin and tonic and an orange and passion fruit equivalent to j2o,which they didn't have! We then sat outside by the river and watched the canal boats coming through the lochs. There are plenty of tables and seats and quite a few people eating pub meals. The roasts looked and smelled delicious. My friend and I had planned to eat at the pub,but when looking online at the menu,I didn't think that the selection was great and didn't see the roast included,so we decided to eat elsewhere later. We may decide to have a roast there another time though.

User

It’s a great place to sit have a few drinks and watch the boats go through the locks. Only thing we don’t like is the food is very very expensive.

User

Lovely setting but on a sunny day there aren't enough tables with shade and the food is under par really. Ordered garlic and lemon half roast chicken and fries today..after first struggling to find a menu and being pointed down the end of the bar to find it ourselves which we had to dig out from the restaurant serving point, food arrived and it was really bland with no obvious garlic or lemon flavouring an some very limp watercress..also served without cutlery or sauces which I was told I had to get (is this fast food or a restaurant? If a restaurant with prices to match why have I got to hung down my own cutlery and accompaniments?)..to then again be pointed to where id find cutlery (whilst my food was going cold outside)..food was over priced I'm afraid in light of this..£15 for chicken and a few fries? . The lady at the bar was great who served me my drink though (short dark hair bright lipstick)

User

Excellent service and beautiful location BUT food so disappointing! I've only been for tapas before which was nice although pricy so was looking forward to a main meal - ordered a large salad - what a joke! Tiny starter size portion - compared to the burger which actually looked a decent size - grossly overpriced for the amount of food in the plate. Happy to drop in for a drink but won't do main meal again

User

What sort of pub doesn’t have sandwiches or wraps on offer at lunchtime? Not even a snack menu. I’m a vegetarian so couldn’t have the BBQ. Try serving some normal basic food instead of all this gastro crap at £11 a pop.

User

Well, I won’t be going here again! This was the 3rd and final attempt. The customer service here seriously needs working on. Considering you are in the same group as The Anchor and The Wheatsheaf...I would expect better. When you complain about an awful coffee, you expect an apology and replacement...not to be told to go back to the bar and re order! Maybe staff training needs to be done? The staff don’t understand the menu well and don’t explain anything. We ordered mojo chicken, we left still hungry. Smallest portion in the world! And £7.75!! If you give us Michelin star food yes if it’s just ok then no! And don’t describe it as a salad unless you count the tiny bit of lettuce involved. All in all unimpressed!

User

We arrived and were told they didn't serve bitter, but we got a pint served to us? We also ordered a medium white wine it came to £9.50 we then order 2 Sunday dinners that took 1 hour 15 minutes to arrive. The meat was raw, cold and in edible, even the dogs struggled with it, we had a 2nd round of drinks exactly as the 1st but cost £11.50?? You decide, I grew up in pubs and am now retired, this has got to be the worst pub and food I've ever had

User

Ordered fish and chips got fish bites and chips was not cooked still raw in middle and 2 cokes and pasta came to 33 pound not that good nice location good views but not go again

User

My partner and I popped in to the Three Locks, the smell inside was very unpleasant!

The restaurant was full of dogs (pets) not sure if it's a thing they do but when your walking through and you have dogs jump on you is not very nice and also as the staff were coming through with peoples food the dogs were jumping up at the staff trying to get to the food! One of the dogs actually managed to touch the food yet the staff still served it to the customer!!

User

Lovely setting and food variable but overpriced and service poor. £15 for a burger (£13 basic + £2 for bacon) so you do not expect to then get your sauces and other condiments from the corner of the bar with a sign telling you not to take them to the table. There was one plastic bottle of mayo, no serviettes and I went round the place twice trying to find salt before resorting to borrowing from the next table. My beef sandwich had lots of beef and it was rare as promised but tasted of nothing and no chance of finding mustard or horseradish to liven it up. There was so much uncooked connnective tissue that I gave up fighting with it. Nice fries though. So my advice if you go is to take your own condiments and a pack of tissues to use as napkins. The only service we got was the food put on the table where as you might expect someone to come back to check all was OK. If you eat outside you pay in advance so we just left and am in no rush to go back.
