Possibly the most iconic British culinary invention – the sandwich - But what's your favourite filling? 🥪

User

Please share the love for False Alibi by giving them a vote to play at BBC proms in our beloved Colwyn Bay this year. Fantastic local band who deserve plenty of support!

Licking the plate 'might' actually be socially acceptable with this beautiful chicken dish.

We used to eat here a few years ago. It was amazing food then but for some reason we haven't been for a while.

Firstly I must say that if you have a problem with steps then perhaps this may not be the place for you but I tell you the climb is certainly worth it.

The staff are very friendly. We were seated straight away although we didn't have a booking. I couldn't decide what to drink so the waitress (hate that word so will call her a young lady) recommended one from the gin menu. I can't remember the name of it but it had Rosè lemonade in it and strawberries.... Lush!!

We were presented with a menu which had an excellent variety for all pallets. I chose the Lamb Henry and my husband had the Gammon. The lamb was cooked to perfection. It fell off the bone. It was served with garlic mashed potatoes and a variety of vegetables. They were broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, sugar snap peas and red cabbage. It also came with a mint gravy. It was all delicious.

As I said earlier, the only negative is the steps but if you aren't able to make the stairs there is an outside eating area with lovely lady/gentleman table service. This has spectacular views out across the sea.

I would give 5 stars without a doubt.

Sorry I didn't get any photos. This was hubby/wife date night. Phones were left in the car. Btw.. I wasn't driving after that gin

User

Visited yesterday. Had a lovely Sunday dinner! Very quick service, food well presented, tasted lovely and staff nice too!

User

This is a proper spot on place

Past it quite a few times never had time to go in

They were poor decisions

The food and service is excellent

Then you sit outside in the sun with a nice drink and take in the scenery

It's just that simple

Recently had a meal here with some friends. I must say the food is divine, but I should make a special mention to our waitress who was excellent, professional, friendly and helpful. I think her name was Seren, a very pretty blonde girl who just shines. She helped us with our orders, flawlessly served us and always with a smile and a chat. Even when my (not so polite!) friend asked about her small scar on her wrist, she regaled us with the tale of how it happened, making us all chuckle. We had a great night, excellent food, far too many drinks and would definitely come again.

User

One of the best restaurants in North Wales.

Great food, great service, friendly staff and to top it off sea views

User

My friend and i have just enjoyed a lovely ice cream from the new "ice cream farm" parlour. Scrummy toffee fudge in a waffle cone with salted caramel sauce. Very friendly staff. Will be back :)

User

I’ve never had a bad meal here! Love the steak pie it’s unreal would definitely recommend!

User

I waited a very long time to enjoy food of this caliber again. Everything was perfect in temperature, perfectly cooked, well presented. Great ambience and service, so looking forward to going there again in a couple of weeks.

User

I love this place. The food is excellent and arrived promptly. The staff are friendly and attentive. We stayed for another hour at least after finishing our meal. There was no one else there by then, but it had been busy. The waitress told us there was no hurry, they are open all day. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff will advise if you're not sure. Good selection of meals for every appetite and every budget from around £7 for a light bite to around £20 for steak.

User

I have been in to the toad a few times now every time i come in the food is always lovely and the customer service is always fab

User

Had a lovely meal as always last night great wine and great food recommended.

User

Great afternoon at the Toad yesterday and the burgers from the bbq were fantastic x

User

Called in for a meal this evening and we had the Sunday menu, for me Homemade Tomato soup and my partner had the seafood stack. Both were excellent, then we had the chicken which was a large portion and just fell off the bone... Perfect. Couldn't manage a pudding so full. The Toad never let's you down, from the staff to the excellent food, totally enjoyed ourselves. Well done each and every one of you.

User

8 of us came for early evening dinner. Food was superb, couldn’t find anything to fault. If we come back to Wales, this would definitely be a place we would return too!

User

Nice ocean view to sit outside and look at whilst having a drink.

but not very pram or wheelchair friendly.

Needs a ramp up to the outside area atleast.

had to carry pram up a few stairs but is defiantly not accessible for people in wheelchairs.

Also could do with a better accessible toilet.

Does have a baby change but it’s up some stairs & back down another set of stairs wich isn’t ideal.

User

Had an enjoyable drink sitting outside. There was an outside barbecue as the Ale Trail was on. I had a lovely minted lamb burger and the chef was very nice & talkative. As I mentioned I preferred brown bread he suggested a gluten free roll and said it was nice and do you know what, it was. Well done Toad Hall.

User

I'd heard good things about The Toad so I was looking forward to seeing for myself.

Welcome by staff was Good, even though we were early for our booked table, we were shown to our table. Drinks order was taken very efficiently...then we waited...& waited, on the point of going & getting the drinks they had poured & left on the bar, the waiter re-appeared & served us.

Food order taken, service went on a go slow. Food was served with no cutlery. Then insulted us by condesendingly saying we had 2 knives & 2 forks for our starter & main. Really. Pate was bland. The waitress rude when asked to clear our plates.

How ever, the main course did redeem the meal. Salmon was perfect, veg less so. Lamb was perfect.

Would not use for a special meal again.

Felt like the boss had the day off & staff had no direction.
