The Wirral Way Description

The Wirral Country Park, best known as the Wirral Way, is an 11-mile linear park following the trackbed of a former railway from West Kirby to Hooton, both on the Wirral, Merseyside. The line closed in 1962 and the park opened 11 years later. It is a haven for butterflies, song and garden birds and squirrels and is used by local walkers, dog owners, cyclists, horse riders and families every day, all of whom appreciate the broad, tree-lined path through our lovely peninsular.
