About Threshfield Quarry

Spectacular space in the Yorkshire Dales - Currently closed due to health and safety concerns

Threshfield Quarry Description

Threshfield Quarry is a recently restored quarry now open to the public and accessed via a series of public footpaths. There is a viewing platform looking across the vast upper quarry space and also with a panoramic vista across the spectacular dales landscape.
The site contains a Crayfish 'ark' where the native whiteclawed crayfish are protected from the threat of the North American Crayfish.
At the lower part of the site there is the remains of an unique setting of lime burning kilns.
