What a fab day we had celebrating the end of the Summer Reading Challenge at Sale and Old Trafford Libraries yesterday. Thanks to John Kirk - Storyteller for presenting the Mischief Makers with their certificates and medals and a brilliant presentation of Dennis and the Chamber of Mischief. Well done everyone - keep reading!

What a fantastic summer of reading, activities and events we’ve had with our busiest August in Trafford Libraries for four years. Thanks to everyone who’s joined us. Here’s a look back at just some of the highlights over the last few months!

Stretford Library Readers’ Group had an excellent discussion about In the Days of Rain by Rebecca Stott at their last meeting. We have readers’ groups in most of our libraries and they are friendly, informal and free. You can find out more, including what they’re all reading over the next few months, here: http://www.trafford.gov.uk/…/…/librar ies/readers-groups.aspx

GET INVOLVED! Do you have a skill, talent or some specialist knowledge that you could share with with the local community? Can you play ukulele, teach tai chi, sing, do junk modelling, are you a tech whizz or a local history boffin? If the answer’s yes, we’d love to hear from you.
Fun Palaces is an annual weekend of culture created by, for and with local people and we’re looking for local individuals, community groups and businesses to get involved and share their skills for... free in our libraries on Saturday 6th October.
If you think you would like to be involved, please drop us a private message or email libraries@trafford.gov.uk for more info.
You can find out more about Fun Palaces on their website: http://funpalaces.co.uk

We attend Rhyme Time at Sale every week and my little boy just loves it! Shirley and Victoria put huge grins on all the kids faces and even the parents get stuck in singing along and laughing away! Thanks ladies!

Trafford libraries still manage to offer a wonderful service, despite facing cut after cut. The events on offer are a tremendous addition to their other services. I would urge anyone to visit their local library, or look at the website. There is something for everyone.

Everything you need is at Trafford Libraries, it's not just books:)

Brilliant service for books and loads more: film clubs, homework clubs, reading challenge, free internet (so important now that nearly all important information is only available online). Really grateful for two fabulous Shakespeare events which got even very young children enthused.
