This is a little cheeky video to hopefully bring a smile to everyone’s faces but also highlight what we in the veterinary profession are currently trying to achieve by staying open. We have cancelled all routines appointments and operations but are here over the phone to help

PRACTICE UPDATE
We are still currently open Monday to Saturday for emergency appointments and repeat medications, please ring 0161 747 9002 rather than coming down and for further advice or information.
Just to let our clients know we are no longer open on Sundays for 3 weeks until we have further updates regarding the current virus situation.
... Our current guidelines are no clients are allowed into practice but we can take your pet off you at the door and take any payments over the phone. We will not accept cash payments.
We can offer over the phone veterinary appointments that are payable over the phone and we can then decide if we need to see your pet for an emergency appointment.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this very difficult time

This is a fantastic and helpful veterinary guide to what is happening in practices currently. With the UK approaching lock down we have to be as careful and limited contact as possible. Please ring us before coming to the practice on 0161 747 9002 for any questions or for further information

COVID 19 UPDATES
Like Tinkerbell, a lot of our clients are self isolating and keeping themselves safe at home.
Under new guidelines we are cancelling any routine appointments or operations to limit contact with clients both for your safety and our own.
... Anyone attending practice must come in on their own, we are allowing one owner per appointment to minimise contact and maintain social distancing where possible.
We are asking clients to ring us first and we will book you in if we feel it is absolutely necessary and organise any repeat prescriptions.
We will be taking payment over the phone for any repeat prescriptions, food etc to limit contact time with clients again for our safety and yours.
We are also offering phone consultations that we can book in with our vets at an appropriate time for you and our staff.
Any weight checks for flea treatments or worming we ask clients to weigh at home and ring us.
We are trying our best to keep providing the highest standard of care we can whilst keeping within government and RCVS guidelines.
Thanks in advance for your co operation!
For our Urmston branch please ring 0161 747 9002 For Carrington please ring 0161 776 0686
Thank you to Emma from Tinypawz for allowing us to share this photo of Tink, I think she has the right idea today! 🐶 y

⚠️Practice Update!⚠️ We are aware these are worrying times, so we would like to reassure you we have updated some of our policies and procedures to ensure we take care of both our clients and staff in the current Covid-19 situation
✔️ We are very used to using strict hygiene precautions but have introduced extra measures. We ask that ALL people coming to the practice wash their hands both before and after visiting according to current NHS guidelines. We have handwashing facil...ities in both consult rooms, please ask a member of staff.
✔️We are frequently wiping down surfaces, doorhandles, card payment machines and staff are taking precautionary measures themselves and updating protocols when advised to do so.
✔️Staff have been advised that physical contact should be avoided, so please do now be offended if we cannot respond in our usual way.
✔️To reduce overcrowding in our waiting rooms, please allow your pet to bring only one owner to their appointment. Should you wish to wait in the car please call us to let us know you are here and we will call you into the practice when the vet is ready to see you.
✔️We would like the avoid cash payments when possible so please bring your bank card, or we can take payment over the phone for any medications or food pre ordered if this is more convenient.
✔️To reassure you the current advice from WHO is that there is no evidence that pets can be a source of infection or that companion animals can spread the virus to people.
✔️We are ALWAYS happy to give advice over the phone to try and limit any unnecessary trips for you and your pet.
✔️If anyone in your household is currently unwell with symptoms consistent with Covid-19 infection or are in self isolation and your pet requires veterinary assistance please call us on 0161 747 9002 (Urmston) or 0161 776 0686 (Carrington) but we respectfully ask that you do not visit the practice.
✔️As a practice we have split into 2 teams to minimise the risk of the whole practice being forced to close. This means at times staff will be stretched so, on occassions, you may not be able to be seen at your usual practice or by your preferred member of staff. We are sorry for any inconvience this may cause and ask for your understanding in the current challenging environment.

Cats are so funny, they get themselves in to a right pickle sometimes! We would love to see pics of your cats getting up to no good.

We are currently in the busiest time for sheep farmers - lambing season! Below is a picture of our vet Holly's lovely flock of sheep with their lambs and we want to stress the importance of keeping your dogs on a lead when there is livestock around.
Please keep your dogs and sheep safe and keep them under close control anywhere there may be livestock.
