lovely afternoon spent here, my grandson absolutely loved it, and to be able to take part in the flight display was fantastic . the staff were amazing, will definitely come again. Thank you to the dedicated volunteers.

We have been twice now and will absolutely be back again! The flight shows themselves go on for well over an hour and the birds on show are just amazing and it’s such a privilege to be able to get so up close with birds like this!!

Huge credit to the staff who take care of these and you can hear it when they talk, the affection and pride they have for the job they do. Should be immensely proud! An absolute hidden gem of a place and we will certainly be back in the near future

We had an amazing day in Turbary woods yesterday. We hadn't planned the visit and went on spec. Because some one was having a flight training day the flights went on longer. We were privileged to have a turn with the glove. It was amazing having these magnificent birds land on my hand.

We met 3 brilliant volunteers but Paul from Lancaster showed us round and told us all about the birds. One of the biggest highlights of the day for me was when he got the Laughing Kookaburra's Laughing.

A massive thank you for all the good work you do and for taking the time to talk to us. We got some great photos I would like to share with you.

We had a lovely time today after just coming across it on a drive out. We will certainly be coming back again and next time we won't miss the flying times . It's nice that the volunteers and the staff are very helpful and friendly explaining about all the birds and about the rehabilitation and rescues they do . Loved it

We arrived just in time for the flying display, which lasted for about an hour and a half. Lots of different birds were brought out and everyone who wanted to got the chance to hold them. One of the best interactive displays I’ve ever been to! There were many different species to look at in the aviaries too.

The staff were friendly, very knowledgeable and willing to chat/answer any questions we had.

It was well worth the small entry fee and all the money goes back into the sanctuary.

A little hidden gem, which I will definitely be visiting again!

Visited today with my 2 year old neice. We unfortunately missed the flying display, but were made to feel really welcome by the gentleman looking after the sanctuary. He went out of his way to involve my neice, even getting out one of the baby birds for her to see up close and stroke. Really welcoming, informative and friendly place and a pleasure to visit. We'll be back for the flying display!

These beautiful owls attended our preschool graduation party! The staff were so lovely and helpful, the children and families loved seeing the birds as well as the staff. Thankyou for coming to help celebrate

The sanctuary was recommended by a friend and it was fantastic. My children and family really enjoyed their day and we all got a go with the displays and holding the birds. They are so beautiful. I can't recommend the sanctuary enough for the great experience. 5* from all of us

Surprised how many birds are there! and there was an extensive flight show included, with plenty of opportunity for the audience to put the glove on and have a go! (This was a weekday, not sure how busy it gets at the weekend). It’s run by volunteers who are all great, friendly, chatty. Would reccomend to anyone for a few hours out for a bargain!

User

Really lovely day out here today, thank you. Loads of birds to see and got to have a little owl sit on my arm little ones loved it, we'll definitely be back.

My husband and I are visiting from Australia and were amazed at the flight show put on by both the birds and their handlers at Turbary Woods yesterday. The extremely friendly staff went to great lengths to accommodate everyone during the show, making sure people who wanted to be involved, were. It is a little gem and entry is minimal, with all proceeds going towards the care and upkeep of the birds and the sanctuary. We would recommend it to anyone.

Me & my partner traveled 7 hours from Maidstone Kent to collect an item and to kill some time ended up here. Totally worth it!!

Totally friendly staff, the gentlemen who did the display was so friendly, allowed me to hold the owl several times getting it to fly back to me.

Looking at the birds and how they act with the staff you can tell they are happy and comfortable. The staff interact with the birds too which is really pleasent to see. It is such a shame they rely on public donations though!

If I ever won the lottery they would certainly be getting a very large sum of money!

Will be bringing my daughter in the future too!

Lovely people, amazing birds!! Always made welcome when we visit. We asked them to be a part of our wedding, and even though it was very short notice they turned up and made our wedding day perfect to us. We also got some out of this world photographs. Cannot thank you guys enough

Last minute day out with the kids today and we all loved turbary woods. First visit so didn't know what to expext. Bird flying display was an hour and a half and quite a few birds were brought out. The place was larger than expected. Staff are both funny and knowledgeable. Recommended for kids and adults

Had the BEST time at Turbary and it was awesome to be so warmly welcomed and shown around the sanctuary. It was clear to see that everyone who worked there loved and respected the birds and the knowledge I came back with was outstanding!

If only there was a place like this in New Zealand

User

After trying to fill our Easter break with activities for the kids I came across this little gem. Extremely great value for a money and The staff were so lovely and knowledgeable. They have a great variety of species and the flying display was the highlight of our visit. The staff tried to include everyone in the interactive show whilst showing the birds off to their full potential. Definitely worth a read visit in summer yo enjoy the area further.

A real hidden gem of a place. Staff were great with our daughter who is obsessed with birds of prey but very shy, and they made her feel really involved. It's very obvious here that the welfare of the birds is paramount and the very knowledgable staff have a deep respect for them. Value for money is fantastic. Can't wait to come back.
