Traditional 4th generation family business specializing in the manufacture & wholesaling of confectionery since 1898. Uncle Joe's is now the umbrella brand for hundreds of products supplied worldwide.
Uncle Joe'S Description
Uncle Joe's has been making mints and traditional sweets by hand since 1898, in fact you could also say it’s the ‘Original Traditional Sweet Shop’ and is the home of the world famous, Uncle Joe's Mint Ball. Chocolates and toffees come and go in fads, but the perennial appeal of “Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls” lives on and after all these years the factory remains. The same sweets are produced in the same, careful manner; over gas fires and hand-made.
The company have been manufacturers and sellers of traditional sweets for over 100 years and the sweets are still made with the original recipes at our factory in Wigan, Lancashire; how many Wiganers at the turn of the century could ever have imagined that the delicious minty sweet they enjoyed was to become such a favourite all over the world and now available to buy online.

Hours: Required to work a minimum of 34 hours per week - usually 8am-5pm Mon - Thurs, possible Friday’s will be required - no weekends or bank holidays.

Job Description: To work as part of a small team (approx. 10 people) on various parts of the production line and packing area including operating machinery, manual handling, sugar boiling, slab work, monitoring product throughout all stages. Love Uncle Joe's Mintballs but gutted you no longer make pear drops. The only ones that were smooth.

Brings back childhood memories.
A pity things move on. As a child we buy then loose in a paper bag. The consistency of the mint in the sweet was good, you may eat one that was very mild in mint but the next one could blow your head off.
Amazing! The best sweets in the world, hands down! A pure taste of childhood.
