User

Surprise birthday meal with the family. The fishcake starters were immense but this is the place to go for a Sunday dinner!

User

Really lovely food and chef very accommodating when I asked for a poached egg with gammon rather than fried. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly especially the lovely young woman who took our order at the bar. Have been before and will definetly be returning...

User

Our first visit, by recommendation. Now I've recommended it to. Fantastic food, great choice. Great service in a wonderful old pub. Sure to become our regular eating out delight.

User

Never had a bad meal in this place, food was lovely especially the home cooked chips. All staff friendly and think the food is good value for the money. Will be back very soon,

Monday night, BOGOF... tremendous! Hubby's Sirloin was cooked beautifully, with sauce of choice. My slow roasted belly pork... melt in the mouth moment. .. lovely veggies... and an accompaniment which you just have to taste... as I cannot find the words to describe!! Couple of scoops and good service.... just the job! Well in Chef Andy! !!

Just had a lovely meal at the Unicorn. Wouldn't have thought to go there for a meal but we had won a voucher the Unicorn had donated to the Tanza Dance School raffle at their Christmas show (the dance school raised over £1200 for Halton Haven). Thanks to the generosity of the Unicorn in donating the voucher they have now gained some new customers.

I'm a local frequenter of the Unicorn, been going there since I was small. Easily my favourite pub in the area. Always guaranteed friendly service and approachable staff. Never had a bad meal. The family all recommend the place too.

User

Great staff and food was brilliant..! rather eat here than likes of Lymm and surroundings areas,, from now on popping from penketh for Sunday lunch down road to Unicorn,, 5 star food, soup & fish cakes amazing ! & the lamb was brilliant,, hardly no fat at all.. great food

User

Food was nice and the staff friendly. My son said his cranberry juice was a bit watery but he's probably just being awkward! Feel like you're out at a country pub even though you're not really that far out of the city.

Kids play area was a bonus as well.

User

First time we have eaten here and it won't be the last. The staff were very attentive and friendly. And the food was fantastic tasting and well presented. Well done very enjoyable experience

User

Use to do the cooking at a Band B, best way to spoil really good tasty food, serve it up on stone cold plates.

Food really tasty and very well presented.

Go again if they serve the food to you at the table on hot plates.

User

Booked a table for 5.15 on 4/06/17 There was a delay in seating us . When finally seated waited A full hour for our order staff seemed run of their feet so no reflection on them maybe more staff needed curry was very nice not fussed on big fat chips though my opinion Hubby had Fish, chips mushy peas which he enjoyed Son never enjoyed his chicken skewers won't be returning anytime soon

I must have been on a bad day, you could have soled and heeled my shoes with the beef, our roast spuds were as hard as the rocks of hell, a thimble full of cold gravy so the whole meal was dry. The veg didnt come out until we had almost given up trying to eat our dinner and was cold. The stuffing and the yorkshire pud were both lovelly thats the only reason we gave 2 stars. Will stick to the 4 Topped Oak i think. 😞

User

We went for a meal this afternoon , the meat was off and we alerted staff to which they made us out to be liars, manager rude and no discount offered. Ended up paying for a meal we didn't eat and a reply of everyone else said that meat was fine however it was not on our meal. Will not be attending ever again.
