We're busy today! At 9am we were at Dovecot Health Centre giving a talk to the Community Occupational Therapy team about Lifeline and some of the latest equipment and offers available. If you're a healthcare worker (OT/Social Worker/Physio etc) and would benefit from a talk to your team, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
And then Donna and Lisa from the team are the annual St.George's Hall Winter Survival event all day - promoting Lifeline about how it can keep people safe over the Winter!
Being out and about in the community as much as possible - it's what it's all about!

This video from the Northwest #Ambulance Service brilliantly illustrates the benefits and importance of helping #elderly people to stay living independently in their own home instead of being automatically admitted to hospital following a #fall.
The scheme which involves an Occupational Therapist attend the emergency call out with a paramedic, allows the patient to be assessed at home and changes put in place to avoid the patient having to go to hospital. In the cases in thi...s film, the patient called 999... But what if the patient can't even get to the phone to make that call?
A Lifeline #telecare alarm is an excellent way to raise the alarm following a fall. It means the patient can get help from either a familiar face (a registered contact), or if emergency help is needed, it can quickly be summoned by pressing their #Lifeline alarm if the fall has meant the person cannot raise the alarm any other way.
This film talks about the down sides to the patient of having to go to hospital (waiting times/disorientation etc), but concludes that it is 'better for patients, and better for overstretched hopsitals' if elderly patients can be treated in their own home.
