Message from a member: Hi. did anyone buy a tommee tippee steriliser from whyndyke car boot today? I thought it was the breast pump you were buying so gave you all the bits for that. So now you have a useless box of bits for the pump and I have the electric part of the breast pump in its box! Would be grateful if you could get in touch so I can have those bits back please? Thanks. (Please just respond on here as a comment and Michelle will keep an eye on the post)

Right OK. The amount of messages we are receiving about a couple of stalls on Sunday is getting a bit daft. I would just like to set the record straight. We DO NOT condone the sale of stolen goods on our site and we have worked very closely with trading standards in the past to ensure that gangs who sell counterfeit products do not use our site to trade. Our Carboot sale is huge and we cannot personally police every item that is on sale. However if the team are notified, IN PERSON, ON THE DAY when people see something untoward happening we can work with the appropriate authorities to tackle any issues. This page is monitored but not usually by the team working on the day. Below is a post from the Police about what to do if you think you have spotted stolen goods being sold on our site and the contact numbers needed.

User

If you see any issues on site please can you tell members of our team personally. Sending Facebook messages is not an effective way to deal with issues. I monitor the Facebook but today I’m not on site. The fastest way to resolve any issues is to speak to the team on site directly!

Friday 11th May the fair starts! The Carboot’s will run as normal throughout the fairs run.

User

thank you to the staff that worked here today that towed my zafira out of the mud ditch would of been stuck otherwise camping for the bank holiday lol

User

This is definitely my favourite car boot :)

User

It's a good car boot plenty of sellers with a wide variety of goods for sale

Sometimes you have to queue to get off the car park but it's nothing to get upset about (although some people do)

User

I have been selling and buying at Whyndyke for many years and it's always a great boot sale . It's full of very cheap bargains like house clearance items to collectable items plus it's not full of traders just enough to fill your cupboards on the cheap . I fully recommend you visit you will love it.

User

I have been a seller here many times and has always been an excellent experience. I usually arrive as they move the sellers into a holding field then after maybe 15 mins into the selling area, no problem at all. I have done some car boots where you wait 2 to 3 hours to get in position for selling. The organizers and people buying have always been great and you do get masses of people there so you will do alright. Getting out at the end needs a bit of patience as it is very busy but you get there in the end. Not done one yet this year, 2016 but looking forward to it again. No idea about buying or parking to buy but bound to be busy and probably chaotic, I would never drive to park at a car boot sale, walk or get a bus or park well out and get a bus. It's a car boot sale not a retail outlet shopping center.

User

First time at carboot selling and it was great also been as a buyer great carboot some poeple never happy it is busy but at least you get parking and its free what more do you want folks

User

Really good carboot only issue is parking but can be rectified by parking away from there and walk the distance or get public transport

User

Done a few carboots here now £10 pre car isn't to bad and getting onto the field and setting up is easy very well organised and staff are friendly and helpful. Get a lot of rude customers but that's life. Everyone wants everything for next to nothing so have to sell a lot to make a lot. But in general it's a good carboot to do. Be aware of your stall make sure you watch people carefully man next to me got something stolen make sure you keep a eye on everything. Will be back soon to do another

User

I've been coming here for several years and never had a problem as a buyer, also started to be a seller on there too quite regularly. However it's really annoying you buy something and have asked the seller if it's in full working order and they say yeah it to find when you get home an plug it in it doesn't work! I know you are buying at your own risk but people should more considerate and not sell things that don't work, it's not like i can take it back an get my money back.

User

The car boot itself is ok but really need to sort out parking! Last time my husband and I visited it took us 1hr 40mins to get out of the car park. There is no clear direction and it's everyone for themselves. I witnessed at least 2 instances where drivers were arguing as 1 was trying to edge in front of the other. All caused by parking issues.

User

Good car boot but shocking car parking due to poor organisation. Took over 1 and 1/2 hours just to get off field. I Think the few car park attendants that there are really need to work on their people skills. If whyndyke spent some of the money they make on better car parking or more staff it would be an improvement. Also it's totally unnecessary to have a Marshall on the exit on the main road with a walking talkie, we have all passed our tests and don't need somebody telling you when to go or wait.

User

You NEED to sort the pot holes so are VERY deep not ideal parking on here unless you have a 4x4 . I will be parking else where till they sort them other people where commenting about them to. Surely not a expensive job to sort

User

Why would you bother can’t get onto the site told by staff to park in TESCO car park. Just go a couple of miles down the M55 to the Kirkham turn off take a right then Greenhalgh site on your right huge field no problems parking or exiting.

User

This site condones the sale of stolen power tools. avoid. Or at least do not by tools here. Note - serial numbers removed from tools is a huge tell tell that there’s something fishy going on.

User

They allow stalls to sell stolen tradesmen tools.

User

Stolen power tools being sold here. AVOID.

User

Lack of clear signage telling you where to go, the staff on the front gate are no help whatsoever and could do with a course in customer service....appalling, I think I'll stick to Clitheroe in future

User

I would advise anyone wanting to go here not to bother at all.... Stuck in a traffic jam to get off here for 2 and half hours yesterday with none of the staff willing to help direct and manage the chaos. We were nearly hit by a car due to the road rage and frustration of everyone stuck there and when I asked one of the wardens if the situation could be managed he said it wasn't his job nothing he could do. This same warden was later on approached by a man who was in distress over his sister who needed medical assistance. The warden told him to jog on and laughed in his face. Utter disgrace. I will never visit here again and will spread the word for everyone to avoid at all costs.

Got in the car at 1055 to go home.at1200 got out of the car and walked to tesco. At 1300 got back in car to try and leave again just got out at 1330 an utter joke

No cars seemed to be.moving but they were still bringing more cars on
