After over 40 years of smoking 40 cigarettes a day, Lorraine, aged 61, from Whelley, had to phone for an ambulance as she was unable to breathe. She was admitted to hospital with a serious chest infection.
Now, after support from Diane at Healthy Routes, Lorraine is over 9 months smoke-free and feels much healthier and able do things that she was unable to do before.

We have been made aware of a large funeral procession in Hindley tomorrow from 2pm. We anticipate congestion on local roads intermittently until approximately 4pm. We ask motorists to be sensitive and patient while the funeral procession takes place.

The building has undergone a £1m transformation and residents will be able to access the library, customer services and much more under one roof. There is also space for a children’s library and a tea room.

We’re working hard to get Hindley Pool ready for residents 🏊‍♂️ Inspired Wigan The pool is looking great after a deep clean! We will let you know as soon as a date is set for it to reopen.

You will be aware that the three inbound lanes on Saddle Junction from Warrington Road have been reduced to two for the remainder of the cycle works. These lanes will be reduced to one during off peak hours until Friday 19th October to ensure that works can be delivered safely. We thank motorists for their cooperation and will continue to update the public as the project progresses.
