Wigan Golf Club Description
LOCATION: (WN1 2UH, Arley Hall, Arley Lane, Haigh, Wigan. )
The Club lies within easy reach of Manchester and the "English Golf Coast" of Lancashire and Liverpool (including Royal Lytham & St Anne's, Royal Birkdale, Royal Liverpool, plus The Fylde, Southport and Wirral courses).
HIDDEN GEM:
Wigan Golf Club is the oldest club in Wigan and is as premier golf should be; an outstanding location, great challenge and an unrivalled atmosphere on and off the course. The course and club are here to be enjoyed whenever you wish. Our policy is to restrict membership numbers to ensure that members have no need to book a tee time, they just turn up and play whenever there is no official competition. This also means that visitors will be welcomed and treated to the Wigan experience.
We are proud to be hosting Joining Jack Charity golf day and The Lancashire Ladies Golf Association in April 2013. In June we host the District Championships; The Victory Trophy.
VISITORS:
We welcome visitors and parties, of all sizes, all year round. We hold a number of Opens and Charity Days, and are a perfect size and location for a society.
Corporate golf is welcomed at Wigan and Arley Hall is a great setting for an away day.
Wigan Golf Club is keen to offer you and your party a package tailored to your requirements. Please also view the current offers available, or phone the Secretary's Office for further details.
We have a practice area, putting green and nets for a warm-up. Drinks, golf balls, tees and yardage books are available in the Club. Buggies are available for booking.
THE 19th:
The prestigious clubhouse and lawned moat are excellent settings in which to relax. The Steward and Stewardess offer a warm and friendly service, providing delicious traditional food, which can be enjoyed with a taste of some local beers or a sample from our wide offering of wines.

Open / Taster Day, Please Like & Share Wigan Golf Club is much more than a great Golf Course, the Unique Clubhouse surrounded by a 12th century moat is a stunning location for your Celebration, be it a Wedding, Birthday, Christening or any other special occasion, the setting is matched by our hospitality & catering service. The Arley Academy is a relatively new addition to our facilities, resident EGTF Qualified Coach Tony Byrom offers coaching and hire... of the excellent Simulator, you can play any number of courses, tune up on the range or challenge yourself to target golf with instant data to help improve your game. Tony also runs free junior coaching each week in the season, introduce your children to a game that can be a life long passion while making new friends and being out in beautiful surroundings. On the day there will many activities to try, including playing 6 holes of the 'Hidden Gem' itself with a member. Afterwards relax with a drink & an excellent bite to eat. The Dining Room ready this afternoon for an 80th Birthday Celebration Afternoon Tea. Lovely presentation of some very tempting sweets by Michelle, Phil & Cate. I have never felt so hungry while taking photos in my life! Are you or anyone you know looking to have a special occasion in a memorable setting? You couldn't get a more unique venue than Wigan GC. Ask about special rates for your occasion.
A perfect (if a little on the cold side) afternoon Finding myself with an afternoon free & wanting to get rid of the awful feeling left after a bad day on course the day before. One of the many benefits of being a member of Wigan Golf Club meant 2 of us being able to act on impulse and play a few holes to work on the advice from resident teaching Guru Tony Byrom, who gave me one thing to work on the day before. What difference a day makes, better day all round with clubs in hand had the result of being able to better appreciate our surroundings, eerily misty adding to the natural beauty of the course. Then afterwards a welcome pot of tea from Michelle as we warmed up watching the football in the laces bar. If only more Sundays were like this😊

In support of the Freeman Heart & Lung transport Association, Saturday 22nd February at the Village on the Green. Organised by our very own Louise Hughes & her Dad Tony Sedgwick. A fantastic evening of entertainment guaranteed. Contact Tony or Louise (from behind the bar) tickets will be sure to go fast, if you went to the club party at the Village on the Green then you'll know it'll be a great night if you didn't then ask around, wouldn't mind betting you'll be ready for a good night out by the end of February😉

Ok after some lively discussion on yesterday's teaser where on the course am I tonight? Which hole are you looking at here?
Recently I've been told quite often my pictures of the course can have people scratching their heads as to which hole or where the pictures were taken, so with that in mind who wants to guess the hole on this one?
