72% of young people have turned out to vote and only 44% of young people voted in 2015.
Recently I've seen a lot of negative comments about the young people who voted, comments like " you can go back to love island" and " thanks for bringing the country to its knees for your tuition fee". I would just like to remind you all, you have not brought the country to its knees, you have added your opinions to the others. You have the right to vote for a reason and I urge you to vot...e in further elections, whatever it is. You have voted for your future, you have made decisions for yourself and you have not left the decisions of you and your friends lives to be decided by the older generation.
Right now I could not be prouder than what I am right now, thank you for making history and do not listen to the people who criticise you. I have seen great debates about politics, I have seen great interest and I could not be prouder of the youth than I am now

Today is the day of the general election and I call to all 18-24 year olds of Salford to please turn out and vote. Show this general election that young people are not to be forgotten about in manifestos.
If right now you're thinking why should I vote ? Just remember that this is your future, your life, do not let anyone else decide it for you. People have died for your vote, use your vote today and use it wisely !!

As young mayor one of my manifesto points was to asses the food bank crisis in Salford and I could not agree with Rebecca Long Bailey more !!

As someone who had sat a debate in the House of Commons only a few months ago it shocks me to hear the news that are only worsening.
As the young mayor of Salford I have always supported first aid training which falls under curriculum for life. Days like yesterday furthermore prove that First Aid is important, an MP demonstrated his skills and the importance of it when trying to save a police constables eyes.
My condolences go with the families of the victims and all that h...ad been affected by this attack. Horrible and unacceptable, terrorism is not the key, terrorism is not love and peace, terrorism is not fighting for what you believe, terrorism is not supporting your religion. Terrorism is hatred.
Salford stands with London, and stands against terrorism.
