FIRST AID COURSE FOR HORSE OWNERS
We will be running a First Aid for your Horse evening on 13th November 2018 from 4pm to 7pm at the Somerford clinic. This is an opportunity to brush up on your first aid and wound management skills in a small group environment. The course will be run by our team of Louise Pailor, who is an Equine Veterinary Nurse, and Equine Bandaging Angel, and one of our equine partners, Mark Tabachnik.
The evening will consist of an hour lecture, and hou...r practical and a case discussion section. During the practical we will be getting delegates to practice wound management, bandaging as well as basic horse examination skills such as taking a pulse and temperature. this is a small group learning experience, and we will keep the numbers to a maximum of 10. the cost for the evening is just £25. Please call the clinic on 01260 280800 to book your place.

During September and October we are having our Annual Vaccine Amnesty. If your horse is over 12 months old and their vaccines are overdue by 3 months or more we can cut the cost of vaccination..... the cost would be £60 for the first 2 vaccinations, when you restart in September or October, which can be done on a zone visit so no visit fee either!
So why should we vaccinate? - Vaccination against influenza ("Flu") is very important if your horse travels to shows, or if you ...are on a busy yard with other horses going out and about - Flu can spread very quickly between horses and they can become ill if they are not vaccinated - tetanus is also a disease we can prevent. Vaccination is very reliable which is important, as tetanus is almost always deadly!

Really interesting and informative seminar by Wright and Morten vets at Somerford Park tonight covering Respiratory diseases. A really enjoyable and useful presentation, not to mention a really scrummy buffet too ! Thank you to all involved in putting it all together !

User

On the occasion that I’ve needed an emergency vet, I have been wholly satisfied with the advice over the ‘phone or on a call out.

User

My pony was not himself on Friday night so Nicola Thompson came out to see him and straight away said to get him to hospital to be on the safe side as she said he had 2 symptoms of colitis. She stayed with us the whole time it took us to load him 2 1/2 hrs ,she was only to happy to help. It turns out he has got colitis and if it wasn’t for her actions I dread to think. A big thank you to her and write and Morten.

My little old pony had surgery last March and came through it with love and care from Liz and all the team.

Sadly Christmas Day he had become old and tired and needed to go over rainbow bridge .

Yet again Wright and Morton showed care and compassion throughout .

And Carly has been at the end of the phone to give me advice .

Thank you to all the team that has dealt with kazan x

User

My family & I would like to say a huge thank you to Nicola for coming to our poorly Paddy yesterday. Sadly it wasn't meant to be but Nicola was kind & caring and explained everything she was doing to us, she included our children (14 & 11) and was with him right until the end.....We've never needed a vet before for anything other than jabs & teeth so our emergency visit was all that we could ask for. Thank you Nicola - you made his last hours so much more comfortable! We are so grateful x

User

Love the new clinic!!! My boy had to pop by today. As always w&m service was incredible but the new clinic...as you can imagine he thoroughly enjoyed 5*star luxury!!

User

I sell horses & ponies for a living, so my vets and farrier are a crucial part of ensuring that the horses welfare is always our first priority. Over the years that I have dealt with Wright & Morton they have provided me with an outstanding service. Each vet has a specialist field of expertise- indicative of the passion and enthusiasm that they have for their job, and will ALWAYS go above and beyond what is called for. They are progressive and forward thinking as a practice, and will look at each clinical case from the viewpoint of horse and owner in terms of manageability. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for the truly excellent work they do.

User
