Ingleby member Ian joined us back in July 2018 and has made some incredible achievements so far which at the time of joining he never thought possible. The fact Ian has lost 4 stone and 4 and a half inches off his waist is secondary to the real goal he has set himself - to climb Kilimanjaro later this year!! Ian is challenging himself to do this 5 day trek to raise funds for the Samaritans who helped him through a very difficult period and lead him to start his fitness journ...ey with us! We now see Ian in the club most days putting the hours (and hours) in, to build strength and stamina to reach the summit. The facilities in club allow Ian to vary his workouts to cover most aspects of his training but he is also aiming to include some ‘3 peaks’ challenges this year in preparation. Who needs therapy when u have Weights and great staff.

Visited the spa yesterday and was looked after by Emily, absolutely thrilled with her magic, really professional service and very helpful. Will definitely be returning.



Also Loving the refurb and range of classes.

Tried other gyms in the area but always end up back even better now with the refurbishment

Love this gym, it has everything anyone needs to start they fitness journey! Equipment is updated and the staff are all ways on hand to help! I trained here though my prep for the UKUP north championship and I’ll be doing the same again for body power � and you can sing your heart out �

I'd just like to feedback and thank Louise for an excellent massage this morning. My neck and shoulders have never felt better!

I was in the area for one night only and despite there being much cheaper guest passes at other clubs I chose Bannatynes. I was made to feel very welcome by the reception staff and had full use of all facilities. The equipment was first rate and the steam room, pool topped off a great visit. If I'm in the area again would definitely use.

I had brilliant foot treatment in the spa this morning. I will certainly go again.

A lovely gym to work out in, rarely have to wait long for a machine or weights and all staff are knowledgeable and friendly, always keen to help.

Visited the spa as they say a change is as good as a rest. Booked for manicure and pedicure unfortunately did not include any soak or scrub infact was only a shape and polish most disappointed polish not great. However was somewhat redeemed today with a lovely lava shell massage.

The refurbishment is amazing and I love the gym but I find everytime I go both studios are being used by the karate group, when I entered studio one yesterday whilst apologising, to get some equipment, I was very rudely shouted at by one of the Karate coaches that I wasn't allowed to enter during their session. This isn't displayed anywhere and I felt pretty humilated. I then have came again to train this morning and went to studio 2, which is free on timetable and surprise surprise karate people are in there and have been 10-11.45. I think the main studio being used 10am-1pm on a Saturday for Karate is pretty ridiclous, when most people work 9-5 Mon-Fri and enjoy the gym on a Saturday morning. I understand the need to rent space to external groups but not if its going to negatively effect the members and not when they are going to be rude and aggressive.

The equipment and staff all great however the changing facilities and bar/cafe are long overdue an upgrade due to old age.



Strange they don't let in non members to use the cafe facilities. After using the gym I arranged to meet a friend for breakfast but wouldn't let him in. After a phone call from him in reception I had to leave the pots of tea I'd ordered and paid for and pop over to Tesco for breakfast.

The club is long overdue an update..especially in the toilets/changing area. These areas have an awful smell and changing rooms very very tired and dirty.

Club is also not child friendly. Quite happy to take money for child memberships but only 2 classes for kids : football or karate. Karate instructors pam and Alex are amazing and only reason we are still at club tbh. However, after finishing the kids classes they are unable to use the pool area...as there are strict time constraints on the pool area on the weekend.

I was unaware of these archaic weekend rules and went to enjoy a swim today with my little boy after being in the pool for 10 minutes the "manageress" PAULINE pointed our we were in the pool outside the assigned child hours. I told her I was unaware , but she still insisted on us leaving the pool immediately! Disgusted. I think simple words of advice would have sufficed but she seemed intent on embarrassing us. My boy was causing no issues and was being very polite and considerate. The club had recieved no complaints.

Perhaps management should re focus there energy on the cleaning of the club and the timetables for family's ���

Looking poorly maintained in pool area .orange peel in sauna .stained walls and roof .showers in pool side discoloration. On positive changing rooms very modern and clean

This review is only for the cafe. We were quite excited to try the newly refurbished cafe which is a pleasant area. The food was very disappointing. I had a flatbread with buttermilk chicken. It was lacking in any flavour, the flatbread was dry and like cardboard. There was roughly one small piece of chicken cut up in the whole thing. It came with a small amount of lettuce, tomato and cucumber (not what I would call a salad) and a tablespoon of pink tasteless coleslaw. My partners chicken pasta looked as equally basic. It’s such a shame that they have spent all this on a refurb and can’t get this right. Massive improvements are desperately needed. I won’t be wasting my money again in the cafe unless it dramatically improves.

The attitude of the staff is absolutely disgraceful. Speak to people like shit. Still having grief with them a year after cancelling memberships and when you phone them all you get is attitude. What these people seem to forget is that it’s the public who pay their wages. Someone high up needs to give them all a serious disciplinary or better still sack them and employ people who have respect for their customers. ����

I was a member for 10 years. Left due to injury. Rejoined in November 17. Assumed that nothing had changed. Nobody around to explain the differences. Simply sat me down in front of a PC and said to join via that. The classes. The gym had changed completely. The boxercise class I loved had 6 six ladies doing it. The gym itself was painted a hideous green. Members spending more time using at their phones than using the equipment. I went back down stairs after 10 minutes to explain to the duty manager that i'd made a mistake joining. Told to speak to memberships which I did. Even visited Tom (manager) of my findings. Emailed memberships etc.



I have not stepped foot in the club since! Bannatynes are still trying the get the membership money from me. And now i've been threatened by Lauren in memberships that she'll pass the debt on the a collection agency.



Bannatynes. You have changed beyond recognition. The gym i once loved is a soulless place. 10 years I was a loyal member. And this is how you repay me? With a collection agency? Bravo big lad. Bravo.
