a gteat day out for all the family. Lovely walks along the river. The pavilion is a lovely place to eat or just stop for a coffee and cake. I think £10 car park charge is fair when there are no extra charges to enter probably one of the cheaper places to visit. Plenty of parking at 3 car parks and you can move around on your day ticket for those less able. Some steep inclines on the walk but well paved and signposted. Great day out will definitely come back

What a stunning day out! So peaceful!

A great place to take the dogs or just wander, taking in the Abbey ruins, the (what looks to be) privately owned castle and of course the open countryside, winding river, stepping stone crossing place and the bridge.

An amazing place to explore or literally do nothing!

Cant wait for our next visit!

We are frequent visitors to the Abbey , so much so, that we are season ticket holders. At a cost of £80 for the year l think it's well worth it

The countryside is Outstanding, with many wonderful walks and many area's for a picnic along the riverside. The grounds on the estate are kept to a very high standard . The cafe is a little on the high side but is of a very good quality , so would not hesitate to use .. My only problem is which " season of the year " l prefer !!! And to end the Priory Church and Abbey ruins are a National Treasure

Visited 1/7 will be back loved it. Only disappointment was walking to valley of desolation wasnt accesible due to fire risks which we understand will be back earlier in the day and brimg the family

The best £10 you will ever spend. This place has my heart, it’s a wonderful pictureque walk with plenty to do along the way, dogs love it and so do the children. Win win.

My favourite place, been coming since childhood, holds special memories for me, just wish people would have more thought about pulling up next to our quiet spot and putting loud ( crap) music on, love music, but Bolton abbey is for appreciating the wildlife and listening to the river, not Justin beiber

Lovely long walk, then expensive cup of tea, and a piece of cake each, and after we had a contemplate in the Chapel and lit some candles for our loved ones. Nice.

User

Love that place

User

Love love love this place been coming to Bolton Abbey for a long time (over 40yrs)

Parking fee too expensive £10.

Charges should be per hour - time it was changed

User

It’s our favourite place to visit, have a walk, paddle in the river and a BBQ. With three kids and a dog, there’s not many beautiful places you can go and have a family day out for £10! Great value for money 👍

It's a fab day out. I first thought the £10 carparking fee was steep, but it doesn't have to cost you anymore than that, so it's a cheap day out!! We parked at Strid, and walked down to the abbey where we picnic'd by the river, the ducks came to have a look what we'd brought for lunch!! I would recommend taking your own food, although the cafes and tea rooms enroute are lovely, they are pricey! We then walked back, past the mini adventure games towards our carpark. It is quite steep in places but the ground underfoot is even and footpaths well kept. Boots or shoes with a good tread are needed. I think the full circular walk is about 10 miles, we cut short back over the aqueduct bridge covering about 7.2 miles. There are a few toilets along the routes too. We were a party of 9 with ages ranging from 7 to 65 and we all loved it! Would love to go again and would recommend it to anyone.

I loved bolton abbey such a special place ..The water fall was a lovely surprise .The whole day spent there would still not be enough time ..will visit many more times and would recommend

How anyone can give this less than 5*? Absolutely lovely day out. Be prepared for car parking charges (£10) however it is totally worth it as you can spend a good day there by the river, stepping stones across the river is a lot of fun and then the mini games along the walk trail for all the kids. At the second car park you park very close to the river and can set up bbqs. Glorious scenery and steep with history.

User

Clean (although not enough bins at the Abbey site) quiet and restful. Well worth the visit

Bolton Abbey is an amazing beautiful place to visit and is surrounded by so many other places to visit. £10 to park seems disgusting at first but parking in Leeds city centre for a few hours isn't much cheaper. At least your £10 goes towards the upkeep of Bolton Abbey not some private companies pocket.

Absolutely stunning place loved it my girls loved it too we enjoyed the few hours we was there last minute visit so definitely going back with the girls and a barbecue happy days

It was a beautiful day and a beautiful place to visit. There was lots of people padding in the river, fishing for tiddlers and having BBQ’s. We loved it. If we lived in the area we would use it often. If you have good weather the £10 per car load is good value for money. The reason I’ve given 4* and not 5* is I think there should be fencing or a rail put up on the Wellie walk. On some of the paths there’s a sheer drop of 20ft in some places onto rocks which I thought was dangerous as being as it’s a adventure play ground for kids. Apart from that it’s a perfect family place to visit.
