We thought this cafe was lovely! The team on the morning we visited (around 11/11.30am, Friday 18th August 2017) were friendly and welcoming -service with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. They were attentive and patient while I tried to order, distracted by my 2 young boys! The food/drink was also very tasty and the wait wasn't long at all. We all had a really enjoyable experience and even though we're not local, I would recommend anyone to visit and I hope to visit next time I'm in the area!

Very surprised to see some low reviews, may be some local tactical reviewing going on I think. The coffee is lovely and hot, not over roasted either so it's not bitter. Have tried the bacon buns and toasties, both of which are lovely. The cafe has tables outside if you'd prefer, also has toilet facilities and disabled toilet. Well worth a visit if you're in town

This place is absolutely amazing and I will always preach that. This place is exceptional for the people claiming to have recieved poor service here I have visited on the times I have been in Middlesbrough which is quiet often and people should see for themselves. Love this place lovely food, amazing service!

My favourite coffee shop to visit in the town centre. Lovely food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Recommend the homemade scones �

Loved it the lady complaining about not being able to smoke on the outside tables typical smokers attitude never changes try down the Riverside loads of room there � the brewhouse is very nice staff very good food received quickly highly recommended

I had the most amazing scrambled eggs on toast one morning for breakfast! Really enjoyed their cherry and coconut scones too! Will definitely be back �

Friendly and welcoming my daughter loved her drink, fruit and the staff

Been there twice now lovely coffee and great assortment of freshly baked food , it's a nice clean place with friendly staff

First visit.. Nice coffee shop, staff seemed friendly, food and coffee nice n fresh although a little tad pricey.. could really do with table numbers/markers matching to people's orders as there was confusion for serving staff as to who ordered what and who was sitting where lol 🙈

Took my mam and daughter for 1st time today. Food was lovely and service good. Only problem was most of the cutlery was still dirty. Mentioned it to a member of staff but don't think anything was done about it.

Scones to die for but coffee ( Americano ) weak and luke warm..service was slow disappointed could not smoke at outside tables when just ten yards away people smoking in square...nobody using outside tables weather was good...just visiting for day will go back in future for take away scones .

My tea cup and pot were tea stained. Could all do with a good bleach by the looks of it. Tea was fine and my toastie was good. Cake counter looked amazing!!! Staff lovely.

I had a mango smoothie and it was disgusting watery and warm.

The toastie i had was lovely so was the salad and coleslaw. Also had chips that were over cooked and stunk of oil also tasted very greasy .

It was super expensive for what you got . That was just under £13 .

The place is nice inside but I won't be back.

Disaster waiting to happen 5 members of staff on that I could see one hand didn't know what the other hand was doing let alone the other person. If you are going to employ young members of staff even old ones please train them correctly .. I felt sorry for them today.. food orders wrong food going back and terribly slow service.

i just paid £6 for a toastie and a cup of tea never coming here again ever

Poor service. 3 members of staff and only 2 tables filled when we went in, yet they couldn't find the time to serve us. Poor effort. We walked out and will not be returning!
