SUE Smith extended her winning sequence in the Watt Fences North Yorkshire Grand National to four when Sharp Response prevailed at Catterick under a typically positive ride from Danny Cook.

Catterick's most prestigious race, The North Yorkshire Grand National, takes place on Thursday, 10th January. We caught up with Adele Mulrennan, our Raceday Presenter and Danny Cook, who enjoyed back-to-back wins in this race riding Lackamon in 2016 & Straidnahanna in 2017, as they talked us through what it takes to win Catterick's richest National Hunt race.

fantastic.great course.great food. fantastic racing got everything you need for a great day

Went 23rd September with my son. Really nice atmosphere and friendly people. Went on inside course bit grassy for my wheelchair but got through it. All in all a fun day for a fiver. And won a few quid.

The youngest visitor at 3 years old, enjoyed the Equiziser enormously. His mother and I had with good results in the betting, and made the most of the excellent catering facilities. All in all everyone had a great afternoon.

Thankyou to all the fantastic staff who made "Charlie's day" so special.The day was just full of special moments and memories that I'm sure we all will never forget.

Not sure what happened but we missed the shuttle from Richmond marketplace, called the course and a taxi was sent for us!



This is service above and beyond the call of duty! Well done and what wonderful day we had.



Loved the Yorkshire beer festival as well! Quite handy to drown your sorrows if your horse lost or to celebrate if it won!

My husband and I keep returning and each time we eat in the Winning Streak restaurant. The food is excellent and gluten free options are available for my husband who is coeliac. The horses can be seen parading next to the restaurant window and the winning post is just outside the restaurant door. Definitely our favourite racecourse!

Had such a wonderful day at Catterick races today. We were lucky enough to win a competition to enjoy a restaurant package and we couldn't fault any of it! The food was superb and the service at all levels was exceptional. Thank you so much and we will be back soon :)

Great little track had a great day on Saturday , biggest crowd I have seen there for a long time , just wish there was more Saturday afternoon meetings on , every year I wait for the fixtures to come out and every year is the same two maybe three Saturday meetings , think the course is missing a good opportunity to get the crowds in .

Great course, it's always our New Years eve tradition to spend it at catterick races, had a great day out once again, even if we were down. �

Enjoyed our visit to Catterick Races course, despite it raining almost throughout our visit and having no winners! Plenty of parking across the road from the course . Friendly staff and nice facilities. Punters package hot pork sandwich with a drink was very welcome. Have been before and will definitely go back again.

Brilliant day with family and friends. My first ever visit but definitely won't be our last

Been coming here for few years now and always find it a great day, friendly helpful staff, food excellent, all in all a brilliant day!

Absolutely fantastic day in memory of my dad. Couldnt have wished for anything better thankyou from the hardy family xx

A nice track, easily accessible from the main North South supply route.

Always a good day's racing, and was very busy for the middle of the week. Always close proximity to the Parade Ring and the Winners Enclosure.

Here in holiday. Had a good day and walked away with a decent wedge! Could have had mor places to sit

Great day at the Races, but must say the food and beer was shocking

Fab little course. Friendly staff. I was in the winning streak restaurant which has parade ring on one side and the winning post on the other, ideally situated. Would have given 5 stars if the roast beef dinner would have been better, the meat had a lot of sinew and was hard to chew.

Always a great day out at this friendly course. Some good racing, made even better by the fact that the sun was shining and I had a couple of good priced winners
