On Tuesday 10th July, Kumali the leader of our pride of African Lions here at Flamingo Land turned 16! Kumali is one of our most popular animals and even has a roller coaster at the park named after him. To celebrate this special occasion the lions indulged in a beef feast, which they thoroughly enjoyed!
Alongside Kumali’s birthday there has also been a recent ‘three lion’ celebration, with our England football team reaching the World Cup semi finals for the... first time since before Kumali was even born!
Happy Birthday Kumali and well done England!

Flamingo Land is celebrating the birth of a zebra foal! The new arrival, a male, was born on 26th June at 1am to parents Guinness and Vendela.
Up and about almost straight away, he can be found in our mixed-species exhibit of giraffe, zebra and ostrich. Our zebras spend most of their time outside in the paddock grazing, so there’s usually a good view of the whole family!

Here at Flamingo Land we are delighted to have welcomed an Oryx calf into our Zoo! Born on the 16th June to Mum, Hyacinth, the young male is doing very well and can now be seen with the rest of the herd. We love this park and all its attractions and rate 10/10 but yesterday was getting beyond ridiculous standing for about 45mins to an hr waiting to get on mumbo jumbo watching Queue jumpers bounce to the front of the queue which was so annoying why can't they queue just like everyone else!!!!!

User

Oh I love flamingo land. So pleased I can now bring my own kids after coming when I was young. Yes the park needs a little updating, a bit of painting etc but the park is still amazing. We came yesterday as an early birthday present for my daughters 5th birthday and I’ve never seen her so excited as when we arrived. Another brilliant day 😊

User

I went there yesterday with my College for the first time ever I thought it was Great Fantastic Magnificent I especially loved the Animals that I saw they were more interesting I thought than going on the Rides even though I really enjoy going on the rides when I'm at Fun Fairs and Amusement Parks I was even more pleased at the fact that I got to see some Birds that I hadn't seen before in front of my own eyes such as the Scarlet Macaw and Yellow or Golden Collared Macaws because before I had only ever seen them in Videos or in Pictures never up close in front of my own eyes so I was very happy about that I loved Flamingo Land I would also love to go back again I enjoyed seeing all the Animals there the Food was Very Tasty as well the Rides were Great also I would recommend it to anyone who wants to go to a place with either Fun Fair Rides and/or Animals in Zoos because it seemed like such a Wonderful Brilliant Spectacular Amazing Place

User

Had another amazing visit to Flamingo Land! I have been coming here since I was 4 years old and watched the park grow and uplift over the years. It is clear how much financial investment has been put in and each time we go, we find something new. Unlike other theme parks, the parking is close by, rides/attractions are grouped making it easy to identify queues and not walk around in circles missing parts or getting lost. The staff are polite and helpful and the grounds are kept well. Compared to other parks, you get a lot for your money and there’s usually some good offers on too (3for2 or 2for1). We will be looking into buying an annual pass for next year as we love it so much.

User

Fantastic day but we had the half price vouchers & took all our own food & drink (I think £40 is a ridiculous amount for entry) we were lucky as the sun was shining & there weren’t many queues for the rides but the family favourite ‘velocity’ Wasn’t even running which was a big key down, I would’ve been even more disappointed if I’d paid full admission. All in all a good day out, a few of the animals were nowhere to be seen like the tigers, and 1 ride stopped halfway through which put me off getting on any more, I sound miserable but believe it or not I did enjoy the day due to family time, I’ll stop now 😂😂

User

Fabulous place one of the best places around us for our grandchildren aged 2 and 4 ,so many rides, parks and ofcourse the zoo.Only thing we found was fitting everything in. Fabuloys day out Oh and i forgot to mention the staff were fantastic alot freindly that most places we have visited

User

We have now been every year for the last 6 years and plan to go back next year!

The place has so much to offer for our family, full zoo with shows, full theme park with plenty of rides for big and small!

As we go for a week there is no need to rush around so we get to take it slowly and enjoy it. The other nice part is every year we notice more rides etc getting repainted and updated, like the new monorail, the fences about, etc. The money reinvested in this park is great.

And the staff are always lovely too (big up the pirate captain!) Always engaging with our son and welcoming. I do highly recommend this for a family holiday.

Now the unfortunate negative and loss of star. Drunks. Every year the problem in the caravan sites (ours being willow grove) is the drunks at night shouting, partying until early hours of the morning, when everyone else is trying to sleep with paper thin walls. And the only time security even pop into the site is when all out brawling occurs. For boasting they have 24hr security, there are no patrols or anything at night which is very disappointing. I appreciate people like to drink and party on holiday, but after a certain time at night in a caravan site it really becomes a nightmare and flamingo land do nothing to help it...

User

Me and my Mam and the other half went on a day out to flamingo land today and we had fun to start off with but went on hero and it scared the life out of me I thought that right isn’t safe you feel like u going to fall out and it put me right of that right they should bring the magum force back as that was a good ride and take that go kart ride away and put it back as it used to be. And make the cliff hanger safer as me and the other half went on and the ride operator didn’t make the safety bar safe for my other half was fuming of that so now the other half has got second thoughts of going back on that ride even tho we had some. Disappointments we had a good day would like to go on holiday here

User

Great day at the park yesterday! Would have been nice to have more areas of shade (I appreciate this is an unusual problem though ) disappointing to see so much litter and cigarette ends even at 10am when the park had literally just opened.

On the positive side, every staff member we spoke to was lovely and helpful, with several going above and beyond - one staff member reassuring a child who had been a bit scared by a ride and finding his parents, another spotting and going to the aid of a lost child and being lovely with him!

Great range of rides for my mixed age kids (3, 9, 12) and fantastic that the dog could come too (more water bowls around the park would have been helpful, on such a hot day).

User

£40 each to get in. Some of the rides where not even running. The main children’s area was booked up for a wedding so couldn’t use it till after 12.30. Just felt a little ripped off if I’m honest. BUT the park is lovely and clean and there is loads to do. The kids loved it

User

We had a lovely day in spite of the fact 3 rides broke down after queuing for a long time and one that wasn’t functioning properly, and 90% of the staff being rude. Too busy talking to each other to get orders correct or even acknowledge you were there speaking to them. Shout out to the guys working the cable car and the arcade by the fountain for actually being nice though!

User

Spent a week , we hired 4, caravans and we ha d 11 children , they put us behind the club where we got no sleep , this went on till after 1.30 sometimes 2. in the morning . Management don't nothing the children were crying as the base of the music was vibrating though caravan . I have emailed twice and have asked for a reply but nothing , customer service not very good .

User

Our experience at flamingo land could of gone so much better. We drove 2.5 hours to get there, when we did we managed to see a majority of the animals and grab some lunch before heading onto the rides. The log flume was the very first ride we all waited for together and we stood in the queue for 2hours! When we finally got on the ride it broke down half way around with us all on it! The sun on this particular day was 26 degrees. We (including 3 children) waited on the boat exposed to direct sunlight for over an hour while the staff tried to decide whether to get us off the boat or not. The children came off the boat distressed and sunburnt and unfortunately one of them even had a accident! The supervisor gave us queue buster passes for the rest of the day but by this time it was 5 o'clock and the rides shut down at 6!!!! We had to run around and try and get the children on as many things and possible in the hour we had left and the staffs attitude was appalling! Alot of time money and patience were wasted at this park!

User

What’s happened to flamingo land. Queued for 4 rides for 45 mins to be sent away at the front because of a fault. Then get attitude from the staff when I complain. That’s 3 hours of the day wasted queuing for nothing and at £40 a ticket is an absolute joke. Over the course of the day most of the rides where closed at some point won’t be going again.

User

What an absolute joke of a day out! Queued for rides to get to front and they broke down so we got sent away, went on splash battle for it to break down while under a fountain. And dont get me started on the queue for lost river ride..queued for over an hour after us waiting most of day for the ride to actually open. The only people that seemed to be getting on the boat was people from the quick queue at the other side..when I complained was told a manager was on the way but never saw one. A member of staff told me there was no Q buster for that ride today and that the people in the queue was people who had trouble waiting in queues & got special passes from the first aiders apparently but either way they was the only ones seeming to get on the ride. We spent 7 hours here n managed to get on about 5 rides n saw the sealion show (which I think was the shortest show iv ever seen). Most toilets we tried was either out of order or blocked. At £40 entry fee each and travelling an hour and half to get here biggest waste of time and money IV known. The food prices are extortionate. Much better places for better value to go..if you haven't tried here I wouldn't bother wasting your time and money.

Went on a ride which broke down while we was on it and was told when we finally managed to get off having to climb over other carriages to get to the platform, that if we went to the office we would get a free day pass to come back to the park, went to the office who told us this wasn’t possible but they would speak to the person who told us this and call us back, just had a call back and the person who told us we could have a free day pass denied all knowledge of ever saying it totally disgusting and dishonest person won’t ever be going again and would to recommend anyone else too either

User

Was just a day in hell for myself had to leave in the end very stressed and full of anxiety.. its very well thought out for disabilities you can visibly see but the park needs thought and staff training on hidden disabilities could have spent the £300 on my son, maybe take a leaf out of M&S they have great signs up in stores saying " not all disabilities are visible" my son is autistic with ADHD taking him to flamingoland with his older brother was supposed to be fun how wrong was I, the stalls inside with the big teddies well unfortunately my son can't play these games but most of the stalls had his favourite thing at the moment emoji soft toys my son would stand looking at them and the guy would stare at us I heard him say these people have been stood there ages just looking I asked him at one point if we could buy one as my son was never Gunna win one he just said NO you have to play the game, every time we came across a stall I had to pull Jacob away screaming and lashing out with crowds of people staring and it's not like you have one or two so you can imagine the fight I had, we ate at the American dinner Jacob just wanted chips but was told he could only have chips if we order burger platter as it comes with chips half the things we wanted on the menu they didn't have maybe tell customers before you seat them as seating Jacob then trying to getting up to leave is hell as he doesn't understand and this stresses him out so we just made do as I'd had enough by this time. We got Jacob an ice cream which he dropped and he started screaming staff tutted and looked at me as if I was a bad mother for not controlling him I could go on but like I said your staff need training in hidden disabilities the ride home consisted of painkillers and a long sleep myself and Jacob went on about 3 rides as I spent most of the time with him at the stalls so my other son his friend and step dad went round the park this was not a family day out and I did not budget for money spent trying to win toys.

User

Very disappointed to find out that there are no policies or pricing structures in place for expectant mothers visiting your park. I contacted you via your social media page and it turns out that if I was to attend I would have to pay full price even though I won’t be able to use or enjoy any of the amenities. I’m 32 weeks pregnant and wanted to attend at the weekend with a party of 8 so I could see everyone having fun and not miss out on my nephews birthday but we’re seriously considering going to a different theme park that doesn’t charge the earth for a heavily pregnant woman. Maybe as a company you should reconsider the way you run things so that people who are unable to use your attraction rides but want to visit with their families don’t feel penalised. Maybe expectant mother’s could show their NHS Maternity Exemption Cards and have a different wristband to say that they can’t go on any of the rides etc....just a suggestion.
