HELMSLEY POOL OPENS ON 25 MAY 2020.
Helmsley Open Air Pool is a heated pool open from the middle of June to the beginning of September each year. Volunteers are always needed please call.

The tent is up. Refurbishment continues, new skimmers going in 5 of the 6 were leaking so lower water bills here we come. The new pool surround and linear drain is in but as you can see we will need to re-turf around that - if anyone can recommend suitable people we’d love to talk to them.
Back for our 5th summer, get fitter, faster and stronger with all the best bits of a triathlon! Open to all ages - choose your challenge and go for it.

Delighted to share with you this painting (not a photo) 'Lido Swimmer - Helmsley'. It's by our very own artist in residence Beth Coombes Boyes who, before she helped youngsters paint at the pool in the afternoons, painted one of our lifeguards during the mornings. Plans for Grange lido look fab & they are on radio 4 13:30 today on ‘our home correspondent’.
Don’t worry- we aren’t getting a roof - but we do need a frost free environment as we start to re-tile. #onprogramme #springiscoming

Went this morn with my daughter and niece.folk at reception were lovely,changing rooms are clean and so is the pool
We couldnt have been looked after any better by staff this evening, during what was an amazing thunder and lightening storm and plenty of rain. Coffees, teas and wonderful cakes, thank you! We managed to get into the pool and had a fabulous night from beginning to end. Highly recommended, we will return <3
Visited to watch my niece in the Biathle. Looked clean and inviting. A great space to enjoy as there aren't many outdoor pools left. Helmsley is an awesome place too. Will definitely return to try it out for myself!!
Unique and well-maintained open air pool. There’s little of these left so it’s fantastic to see a facility still going strong and putting on events to attract swimmers. We joined them for the Summer Solstice Sunset Swim and the vibe was relaxed, friendly and tranquil, plus free hot chocolate at sunset was a bonus. Can’t wait to swim there again.

Had such a lovely afternoon today with my almost 2 year old changing rooms and poolside have been done up since I was last there and was all very clean and presentable my little boys first time at a swimming pool and he had a great afternoon splashing mummy! Coming back tomorrow!!!
Had a wonderful time at Helmsley open air pool. What a treat! I grew up in Helmsley and cannot praise the staff and updated facilities enough. My 6 year old loved it! Helmsley open air pool is a gem in a beautiful town. Well worth a visit. Thank you for a great day!

First time here tonight! Warm, friendly welcome. Really lovely pool, so clean and a joy to watch the sky as you swim. And a great cup of tea afterwards. Really enjoyed ourselves, can't wait to come back!
Fantastic hidden gem!! Great place, cheap, lovely staff!! Play area next door with picnic benches and plenty of green space,
great way to spend a day and just a short walk

Absolutely love this place! I will be back with my daughter these holidays. Roll on the next moonlight swim/evening event. Thankyou to those who give their time to keep this place open x
Absolutely brilliant time this morning with the grandchildren and friends . Can't thank you enough for a lovely clean pool and heated too . First class .
Helmsley pool is great .had a good time there .people very friendly .loved the glow sticks shame we didn't see any shooting stars
Disappointed! Turned up at 5:45pm for tonight’s last session till 7pm and was told it was full so they couldn’t accommodate a single adult. Whilst in the car park a woman and baby were admitted after a discussion with staff. Also a guy with four boys turned up and the kids were hugely disappointed it was full. Guy says he’ll go ask anyway and went in to chat to staff and they were all allowed in - kids dancing in the car park as they were now happy. Glad the kids didn’t have to be disappointed too but it seems it really is not what you know but who you know. Not impressed �
