Superb every time I visit whether itŌĆÖs afternoon tea or an evening visit for a gin and tonic accompanied by bowls of crisps and olives... very continental and a lovely touch. The festive afternoon tea is divine and a glass of prosecco just finished it off. Service is brilliant with very attentive and friendly staff and definitely worth a visit

Service fantastic, friendly and welcoming, even our dog was allowed in and fussed over and given treats, food was excellent, tea gorgeous (well it was Yorkshire Tea) and the cake was FAB-U-LOUS, moist, zingy ( was lemon and white chocolate) and plentiful, it was a large slice. 10 out of ten for everything. Will recommend to everyone. If you go to Bedale visit here, you won't be disappointed. ( only negative I had was that I had rocket in my panini, it wasn't a nice flavour, but that's only down to personal taste.) thank you institution

I won a cream tea for two, so visited on Saturday. Wow!! It was beautiful. We had a lovely window seat meaning we could watch the world go by whilst enjoying our tea & scones. We even got to take some scones home with us as there was no way we could have eaten 4 each. I will definitely visit again. Thank you

I took my mum here for afternoon tea based on reviews IŌĆÖd read. It did not disappoint! We had my 8 month old son with us and had our buggy. Despite having set out a table for us upstairs, the staff were incredibly kind and brought all the trimmings downstairs so my son could finish his nap in the pram and we didnŌĆÖt have to struggle with the buggy up the stairs.

They were really attentive and efficient throughout, and the afternoon tea was really yummy and set out beautifully.

I would definitely recommend it to everyone to visit. Thank you so much to the staff-you went above and beyond, it made our day! Xx

I can't wait to come back to try the platters ­¤śŹ I attend afternoon tea yesterday for a friends baby shower and everything was amazing, once a plate was empty they came round and replaced it with a full one it seemed never ending ­¤śŹ Food & staff are lovely xx

I booked an Afternoon Tea with Upstairs at Institution, which took place on the Wensleydale Railway for my parents Ruby anniversary. They really enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. The food was delicious and plentiful, with lots of options to suit all tastes. There was also alcoholic drinks available and the table service was fantastic. The views of the Yorkshire countryside were lovely and the saloon car was very smart and well presented. I would highly recommend this experience.

Chose this cafe as it was dog friendly. What a lovely cafe, the staff were lovely and my little pup got some treats when we sat down which she loved (Iris says thank you). She loved the fuss that was made of her too’┐ĮWe only had drinks but the other things on the menu sounded yummy, will be back for another visit to try the food soon.

Called there for lunch service was good and food excellent. Went on the Evening for the Gin Lounge great selection of Gins, we also had the mixed Meat & Cheese Platter which was amazing. Highley recommend going. Staff lovely and can't fault the food. Next time when we are back in Bedale will be going back.

Booked in advance for afternoon tea with my mum for her birthday treat. Table was laid beautifully for our arrival and we were warmly welcomed. All of the food was delicious and the service was spot on. Had the treats we couldn't manage to finish boxed up for us to take away. Highly recommend a visit (or few) to this fantastic boutique cafe.

Excellent afternoon

Attended a retirement party on Saturday night. The food was outstanding probably the best posh Italian based afternoon tea IŌĆÖve been to. Will definitely be returning for lunch very soon. Shame youŌĆÖre not in Darlington I would be a regular. First class service as well.

Amazing food, had the Ploughman's Wrap, was delicious and the staff are lovely and so friendly. Can't wait to go back and try the halloumi fries.

Afternoon tea bought for my wife at Christmas, by me. She chose to take me as her plus one. Good choice delicious food with ad lib tea.

Absolutely love this jewel! Fantastic, quality food, perfectly presented and great value for money too. The owner and staff are so welcoming and friendly and really do make your visit special. It's a must for me when I visit my family up North.

A lovely warm, friendly welcome each time ive visited. The staff are caring and make sure everything is satisfactory. Today I had the nicest scone I have ever tasted, it was Lemon and White Chocolate. My friend and I met here and we sat for 3 hours by the window and not once did we feel rushed, in the way, or we should order more and the bill was only presented when we asked for it. It is the nicest caf├® I have ever been in. Always excellent in every way.
