Welcome to Staithes Holiday Cottage which sleeps five people; Kindly Light Cottage. Our self-catering holiday cottage is set in the historic and beautiful town of Staithes near Whitby, Yorkshire. We are situated in a perfect location just 50 yards from the beach! With scenic views, beautiful surroundings and peaceful seaside fishing tranquillity - once one of the largest fishing ports on the North East Coast, fishermen can still be seen taking out their boats. Staithes is an idyllic getaway for holidays or short breaks.

What a fabulous cottage & locations spent 3 nights there loved it. Great location and fab cottage would definitely recommend. Everything you need in the cottage well equipped, very clean, will definitely be going back. Cod & Lobster pub/ restaurant on your doorstop food fantastic. Dottys Tea Room lovely cakes. Had a fab walk to Runswick Bay the views are amazing. Great place, can’t wait to go back. The locals were very friendly & helpful. Loved it.
Well what can I say apart from STUNNING!! This cottage is amazing, everything you would need for a short break away, it certainly is a home away from home and was so sad to leave this morning. The village is absolutely beautiful and everyone was so friendly. Will certainly be back all the time now. Andrea you have a little gem here. Thanks again for everything. Xxxx
We've just spent a fantastic weekend at Kindly Light Cottage, the location is perfect, just metres away from the harbour and the local pub! The cottage is spotlessly clean and has everything you need. Highly recommended.
We spent 4 nights in the cottage after our wedding and it was just perfect. The cottage is beautiful and the attention to detail around the cottage is great, with little touches here and there to make it feel really homely.
The location is right in the village by the harbour. The Cod and Lobster pub only takes a few steps to get to and they serve lovely food too.
Andrea was brilliant from booking the cottage to answering, ringing to make sure everything was okay when we got there and leaving us some fizz and chocolates because we had just got married. :-)
We would definitely recommend staying here and we would love to come back.
We have just returned from a fabulous week at Kindly Light Cottage. 3 generations of our family. Andrea made us all greatly welcome with a bottle of wine and a tray of cupcakes which were very much appreciated. Our granddaughter was given charge of looking after the cottage's teddy bears which she loved. The cottage has everything you need being exceptionally well equipped. The sun shone in the bedrooms and was a delight in the mornings as was the view from the main bedroom and the twin room. It was lovely to sit in the garden and soak up the sun. Hope to stay there again sometime. Thank you Andrea for sharing your cottage.

The key was the 5* place Kindly Light Cottage. This place perfectly located by the beach and steps away from the beachside pub. Hidden away down a Guinea lies a no expense spared 3 story cottage. Hi spec throughout and the beauty Of s garden area too.
I will happily return and can highly recommend a 1st class owner giving a 10* service and an impeccable stunning cottage

Our third visit to Staithes (our 1st trip was when we fell in love with this gorgeous fishing village) and Kindly Light Cottage has exceeded our expectations.
You couldn't beat the location if you tried; 17 steps to the Cod & Lobster and 50 to the beach!!
Andrea, thank you, you have thought of absolutely everything in your gorgeous cottage to ensure guests are comfortable, it really was home from home. We couldn't fail to have a great time and will definitely be returning.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in October and had the best time! Staithes is a lovely village and the cottage is in an ideal spot. Very well-kept and perfect for both couples and families. We visited the local pub (The Cod and Lobster) during our stay and the food there was excellent. Would 100% recommend for a weekend away��. Thank you Andrea!
Kindly Light is such a warm, welcoming cottage that we felt at home as soon as we opened the front door! We have stayed there twice before and have just booked again for next year!
It is very clean and comfortable with great views of the sea from the bedrooms.
Kindly Light has a private outside space and it is a real sun trap, we loved sitting outside with our morning coffee.
Andrea, as always is very helpul and we would highly recommend this cottage.
Kindly Light Cottage is just a few steps from the iconic Cod & Lobster down a secluded and private short alley. The cottage is superbly furnished and finished to a high standard. Lovely modern kitchen / dining / lounge area to ground floor. Gorgeous master bedroom with solid Oak furniture, solid wood flooring and lovely views. Top floor with 2 further bedrooms and a modern fitted bathroom with shower and tiled floor. On arrival the cottage was spotlessly clean throughout with good clear instructions and we wanted for nothing as everything is provided. A special and rare treat is the garden area with table and chairs and lovely flowers. The owner was most helpful throughput with great communication and even a welcome phone call. Cannot recommend this cottage enough. Staithes is such a wonderful place and we have been visiting for over 10 years now.
Just returned from a wonderful long weekend in this fantastic cottage and magical village. It is our 2nd visit (so far) to celebrate my husbands birthday with close members of the family, and how thoughtful of Andrea to leave a birthday card, bubbly and chocolates!
The cottage is perfect, wonderfully furnished and decorated to a very high standard with very tasteful additions. We counted 23 steps to The Cod & Lobster, and situated directly on the sea/beach front. What a treat to be able to take the very special member of the family also, dogs are made very welcome which is great as the walks are amazing.
To sum up Kindly Light Cottage must be one of the best! Thank you so much for everything Andrea & Simon.

The accommodation was excellent, and Andrea rang to check we were happy with it after we arrived. It’s the first time we stayed but I’m sure we’ll be back again.
Just back from a fantastic stay at Kindly Light Cottage. What an absolute gem of a place, it was so clean and tidy and eveything there that you could possible need! Such a bonus having a garden to sit in too, loved having our coffee sat out in a morning with the sound of the sea and seagulls, and lovely to sit out to have an early evening drink. Such a lovely touch from Andrea leaving a bottle of wine and chocolates. We cant wait to return to Staithes and Kindly Light Cottage is the only place we will stay, thank you so much Andrea, you made our holiday perfect!!
It's hard to add to what has already been said, but we've just returned from a week in lovely Staithes, staying in Kindly Light cottage, and we loved it! Andrea really has the knack of making you feel welcome in her cottage, & it is so well-equipped & perfectly placed - sitting in bed with a cuppa in the morning, looking out onto the sea, followed by breakfast in the garden in sunshine, leaves us with great memories! We cannot recommend the cottage highly enough - thank you, Andrea.
Fabulous stay. The cottage is truly 5* and everything has been catered for. Contemporary kitchen and bathroom blend beautifully with the stylish decor to create a cosy feel. We all said we would love to live here. So much better to stay in the village than visit for a day. Our Springer loved the beach which is on your front door(as is the dog friendly pub) and there's a woodland walk a few minutes away (saw deer and heron). Just off the Main Street so you're not disturbed. Can't wait to come again (or buy it if the numbers come up). The owner is very thoughtful with many personal touches to make your stay extra special.

Fab cottage in a superb location, about ten steps to the Cod and Lobster pub, and with the huge benefit of a wonderful courtyard for dining out, which was fantastic on this unseasonably hot weekend! Bedrooms and bathroom are gorgeous. Lounge area downstairs is a little compromised for 4/5 people but it's a very minor observation and not a complaint as it's also a very lovely space. Highly recommended, the girls will be back!
Beautiful well equipped cottage a stone throw from the beach & pubs � a lovely little enclosed garden to relax in & keep our dogs safe. Highly recommend this cottage & the beautiful fishing village of Staithes we had a lovely 5 day break here & hope to return very soon. Absolutely fabulous!!! A fantastically placed little gem of a cottage in the heart of Staithes. We went for a long weekend and couldn't believe just how lovely it was. A fantastic combination of modern decor with real character. So many well thought out little quirks and details made it feel like a proper home from home. Seriously impressed and will definitely not only be recommending to my friends and family, but will also be returning.
