We had a lovely day at Lightwater Valley yesterday. Weather wasn’t the best and the accident on the A1 which delayed us by an hour wasn’t either but thankfully no one seriously hurt. Park and rides were lovely, only grumble I have is the smoking near children’s rides. I know there are designated smoking areas but these were not being used yesterday with people smoking right near the rides. Why not ban smoking at the site althogether?? Lightwater Valley is after all aimed at children. There were also some desirables present yesterday who thought it was ok to swear loudly, this was thankfully dealt with by a member of staff. Overall a fantastic day and in the words of my 4 year old.......the best day of her life!!

User

We had An amazing day at the park today! What made if for us were the amazing staff! All smiling friendly and a great bunch! Certain rides were very quiet so we were always asked if we would like to stay on which was fab for the children. A great mix of adrenaline filled rides and family friendly rides too! Only downside was leaving at closing we could have stayed much longer! Staff should certainly to be praised by management for their wonderful attitudes and service! X

User

We came with our friends today, who have annual passes.

They have been trying to convince us to purchase Annual passes too, so we thought we’d visit first to check it out.

Well, where do I even start????

We arrived at 10am and left at 5pm only because we had to!

I have never visited a more pleasant park.

I am usually ‘the coat holder’

But I went on as many rides as my kids!

Staff went above and beyond and were so friendly!

The park was spotlessly clean, toilets included.

We are coming back on Friday to buy our annual passes and will probably continue to do so from this year on.

Thank you for an amazing day

User

We came for year 6 leavers trip yesterday and all had a fantastic time the park is amazing and the staff are all so friendly fantastic day out for everyone highly recommend

User

Lovely day out, the weather was perfect, the park was really clean and the rides were great! No queuing which was good and the kids loved it too, 11 year old boy and 6 year old girl and there was rides for us all to enjoy

User

I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the general manager, Staff working on the Ultimate , and the lady at the customer service point near the fron on Sunday 10th.

Me and my partner came on the spur of the moment as i had told her about the unique coaster and been a bit of an enthusiast i wanted to ride it again for the first time in 15 years or so. We was enjoying the ride until the my girlfriend turned to me and said 'My phones just come out' ...... Yep she had lost it in the woods from the coaster. Anyone that knows this ride will know its near on 2 miles long through dense woodland.

We told the staff when we got back what had happened and they said 'We will get somebody to look for it' ...... not in a million years did we actually expect them to go and walk the track through the woods to find a customers phone that fell out at about 50mph. They told us to check back in at the front desk in a few hours. and yep you guessed it ............ they had only gone and actually got it.

We couldn't believe it, The women was so apologetic on the desk and made my partner feel a little easier about the situation, the phone as you can imagine was smashed to bits but at least we can get the photos and pictures of her nephews from it now. we was told the manager himself went out to look along the track.

If that's not customer service i don't know what it ...... well done, We enjoyed our time at the park, theirs not a huge deal there compared to other theme parks etc but with some investment in new rides and that level of staff commitment your onto a winner.

PS (Your KMG) Eagles claw is the best i've been on, its running great !!!!!!!!!

User

First things first. Parking is free and right next to the park.

Thats good.

I went with my wife and my 10 and 8 year old boys.

The park was immaculate throughout and the rides are varied for all ages and lots of fun.

However what really made our day was the pleasantness off the staff. Jake on the cars at the far end of the park was incredibly good and he said he couldn't wait till later because he was going on the train to work!

The train driver later on asked us if we would like a picture taking all together without even being asked! A very nice man.

Even the young man in the ice cream shop was very polite.

Toilets were very clean also and a pleasant experience all round.

A great sized park with lots of rides, probably too many to ride in one day.

Yet not too many rides to ruin the feel of being in a park. 10/10 day out. Couldn't fault it.

User

Excellent family day out!

Brought my family of teenagers plus a 5 year old - was a bit worried that there might not be enough for the little one to do, but there was plenty she could ride on, and the colour coded height signs made it easy for her to understand any restrictions.

Science Show also excellent for her, while the teenagers were off on the bigger rides!

Park (and toilets!) also spotlessly clean, and staff all friendly and engaging.

User

Decided last minute to come here on Saturday. Arrived 9.30 gates were open. Sun was shining. We all had a great day. Not long ques. Was a relaxed experience. Not over run. Kids r 8 and 3. Got on most of the rides. 8 year old was just a bit to small for the ultimate but got on everything else. Left at 5. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Visiting center had sun cream for the kids to put on as we had ran out. Will defo be back xxx

User

Absolutely fantastic service, our boys are autistic and the staff were great with them, wristbands etc, because of the weather we didn’t actually need them, Lightwater Valley couldn’t do anything about the weather but we were dressed for it and we got on everything we wanted with no queuing, well worth the 1 1/2 hour drive to get there

User

Absolutely brilliant day with family & friends. Lovely weather, hardly any queues, all staff were very friendly, fab new park in the middle and giant bouncy bubble made it great for my 0.9m littlie as well as all the rides for the bigger ones. All in all a brilliant day enjoyed by our party of 8 - thank you Lightwater Valley.

User

Pretty good for under 11’s. No point paying for tickets in advance as it cost you an extra £2.50 booking fee with 100% Zero inventive....weird.

Food is the usual burger chips type cuisine made to an average level. Still the day as a whole was good and my 9 yr old daughter smiled and laughed most of the day....priceless😀

User

Had a lovely day with our grandson. Shame the water slide wasn’t in operation as it was a very hot day. Staff were all very helpful, happy and smiley which was great. All in all, definitely will be going again 😊😊

User

Had a great day at Lightwater Valley, used Tesco vouchers so basically free day out. Kids loved it and good amount for them to get on, no cues as park was quiet.

Only downside as park was quiet there wasn’t many eating places open so should have taken a pack lunch. All in all a great day ! Will be back

User

Great day out for the kids. Slightly dated but my 2 loved it!! The birds of prey centre was a highlight and the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Made better by the fact we could pay for it using our club card vouchers!!

User

Family of 3 visit at the start of May half term. We had discount voucher so good value to get in. We actually had a great day, we hardly had to queue, yes a couple of rides broke down, but that’s not an issue as we just waited or went back later. Plenty of rides for our 5 year old to go on, which he loved.

Only reason for 4 stars is the customer service at the Munch Box food outlet left a lot to be desired. Two young men who had no urgency to get the food cooked and out to the customers. Perhaps a sprinkle of Disney magic would help! But overall a very good family day out, that didn’t break the bank, in comparison with other local theme parks.

User

Upon arrival staff were friendly and helped us with our tickets. We were a group of 52 people that had pre booked. Children started to ask for ice cream as the day went on so we headed towards the kiosk which we found was closed. So off we went to another.. which was also closed. So we went to a gift store to buy ice lollies. Lunch time arrived and a majority fancied burger and chips. We went to an eatery near to the ultimate to find it was closed. There was only one place open for food with the options of pizza pie jacket potato and sandwiches. We all had a range of what was on offer and there were no complaints.

Plenty of toilet facilities which is always handy with young children. The queues for rides were reasonable. I don't think anyone waited more than 20 minutes for a ride.

We probably won't return. Although we enjoyed our day I found it slightly run down. Maybe I was expecting too much but I expected all food diners and ice cream/ drinks kiosks to be open given it was a Saturday in the school holidays.

User

Park very clean and staff very helpful and friendly, however.....

The food is desperately in need of improvement and quick!!

A bacon butty I experienced must have been off the oldest, toughest pig in the world! It was very poor value for money at nearly £5 including a tea.

This is spoiling what would otherwise be a great family day out!!!!

Use better quality food!! It is not rocket science!!!

You are charging a premium price for food, but you are delivering poor quality food and the presentation is not much better!!!

User

I brought my 2 kids to LWV today. Chose to visit after seeing the science show advertised. We had a lovely day. But, the science show was terrible, the woman that did it made it so boring, nothing went right for her and I was horrified in the way she spoke to the children that had crept to the front of the stage and had perched on the edge. My child was one of them, my little girl has severe ADHD and going anywhere is a challenge. The woman that was doing the show turned from being all nice to being dam right nasty and I was horrified in the way she spoke to my daughter. She shouted at my daughter twice. If you are going to put shows on for kids, make them more interesting and get someone in that knows how to talk to children especially ones with issues such as mine. I’m not happy at all
