So today our children enjoyed a great visit from Zoolab. We learnt lots of things about springtime and what all the different creatures do over the winter. Lots of hands on learning - and bravery!!
So today our older children enjoyed a great day out! We went to the seal viewing point at Greatham Creek and then on to Seaton Carew for a lovely picnic lunch, digging and sandcastles and a paddle in the sea. Beautiful weather - lovely start to the half term holidays!
The chicks are getting bigger by the day! The children are loving watching them, feeding and looking after them!
Busy week! We have had great fun working together to do lots of baking. We used our mathematical skills to weigh out the ingredients and our physical skills to mix, stir and knead. We also dissected our owl pellets - wow! We were able to see the skeletons of lots of different creatures - we then explored this further using the laptop to investigate what owls eat! We also discovered we have a bird nesting in the garden - we are excited to see if we end up with any chicks. Lots of learning going on!
Only 8 weeks to go until Hannah, Ann and Debbie complete the 26 mile Northumberland Mighty Hike for Macmillan. We are running a "guess the time" competition to raise money. Its £2 per go and whoever gets the closest to our finish time with get a lovely prize! Ask staff to record your guesses. Many thanks
This great family event is happening this weekend too! LiveWires sponsor this event too. Check out the page for more info!
The last week has been action packed at LiveWires! We have had our chicks hatching, Lyn from Raskelf Rare Breeds brought some goslings to visit us. We have been pressing flowers. Also we’ve had a great Forest School session, picking wild garlic and baking bread on the fire and making our own garlic butter to go on top! Delicious! We’ve been looking at owl pellets too to see what they eat and we’ve had a birthday this week too! #yorkshireforestfolk #raskelfrarebreeds
So we are proud to introduce Mr Peck, Choc-choc, Splitz, Prince and Shadow! The three in the incubator are yet to be named - the children are busy thinking up names for these too! Exciting times! Our children are enthralled by them and learning so much! 🐥🐥
So we have 3 so far!
So today is due day! We already have some activity! Hopefully some will hang on until our children are back tomorrow! Exciting times! 🐣🐥
These will be given out to all parents/carers. Please fill in and return (postboxes will be provided in both rooms so it can be anonymous). We need your views and feedback so we can keep improving our service. Many thanks 🙂
