About Mackenzies Farm Shop

Situated in the Yorkshire Dales, Mackenzies Facebook page brings you all of the latest and greatest news right to your newsfeed.

Mackenzies Farm Shop Description

Set amidst the beautiful Blubberhouses Moor lies Mackenzies Yorkshire Smokehouse, a family business creating superb smoked and cured foods.

“For more than 25 years we have pioneered and created some of the finest smoked foods available”

Mackenzies launch to fame began by our presenting a sample of our superb Oak smoked Scottish to the prestigious Fortnum and Mason’s department store in London. Mackenzies won and from that date many years ago we have grown from strength producing and supplying some of the finest products in the country.

Mackenzies now produce some of the very best dry cured bacons and hams available today and we stand by the fact that our bacon is ‘bacon as it used to be’ which is true testament to our quality.

Here at Mackenzies we use traditional methods of curing and smoking, burning only pure oak chips to ensure the best natural flavours, priding ourselves on producing outstanding oak smoked foods free from artificial colours and flavourings.

We have an extensive range of the finest Smoked fish, Poultry and Game and Cheese for you to choose from. Whether for special occasions or simply good living; our food is prepared with the greatest care for your enjoyment.

We stopped by for the new, enlarged shop. Had lunch first. Service was excellent. We waited a little while for our meal, but only because it was cooked to order. The food range in the shop is very good. (Hope they sorted out the loo that wasn't flushing properly. )

Today was the first time we have visited the Smokehouse as we never knew it was here!!! What a hidden gem this place is! The Farm Shop is lovely and sells fabulous products! The Restaurant is great, the food is delicious and the staff are so polite and friendly. We will definitely be back very soon!

User

The food was delicious freshly made I had fish and my daughter had burger really well presented. Will definitely recommend to others.

User

Just love this place. Even more so now they have a Manager / Front if house man doing a fab job. He is a breath of fresh air from the old staff. Foods fab, scones are to die for. Love the shop too and the extension. Fresh meat and fish is really good and reasonably priced. Visit most weekends . Nice to see the owners have taken note of the customers comments and indeed complaints. Well done.

User

I like smoked fish and have eaten a lot of them back in Greece, which has many traditional and high quality products. I believe Mackenzies have, if not the best, one of the Top 5 of the World's best smoked fish products! I will forever be your loyal customer! Keep up the good work!

User

Haven't tried the cafe yet but the shop is superb with a great selection of all types of meat and fish.

Fabulous sandwich on gluten free bread. Very good portions and fantastic homemade chips. Rx

Debbie and I had a great lunch at the smokehouse today, Farmhouse terrine starter and lambs liver for main for me, Mmmmmmmm. After lunch I bought some Yorkshire brewery beer, smoked bacon and duck from the smokehouse shop. Great trip out.

User

Called for lunch yesterday and a browse around the shop. Lunch was absolutely delicious : ham, cheese and chutney sandwich, large portion of salad, served with chicken and smoked cheese soup and a small portion of chips ! Other half had a steak sandwich cooked to perfection. Definitely restaurant quality food and would highly recommend it ! :-)

User

Best value for money.Beautiful restaurant with great deli shop . Smoked salmon all roast salmon and prawns .Lovely small salad and chips and soup under £10 .Superb value .Never been disappointed here .

We had an enjoyable meal at this restaurant, staff were friendly, food tasty and surroundings very nice. This place also has a brilliant shop. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit and whenever we're in the area again we'll be back.

User

Hi! Had my first visit to Mackenzies on Fri 11th and have to say I was impressed with the place. I had the Red snapper but sadly it was overcooked and dry. The roasted veg were OK and potatoes. Hasn't put me off and I will come back - cheers.

User

Had a very nice lunch on Sat 18 Nov. 3 of us thought the food was was freshly cooked and nicely presented plus tasty. Would go again. One negative was that it was a little cold in the conservatory where we were seated,

We visited on Saturday 2nd September at 2.30pm. Our third visit. Not the best day as they were short of staff and two of the four were 14 and 16 and new to the job that day.We waited 20 minutes to have our order taken and every table had problems whilst we were there. Which isn't the kids' fault: there was no-one taking charge and no apparent process with the two chefs shouting at the servers who were confused as to who had ordered what etc. It's a shame as the food was excellent as is the shop produce. I appreciate they must have problems finding staff as they are quite isolated but it's a shame that there appears to be no corps d'esprit and pride in service. Based on yesterday's performance there were 8 tables of people who would struggle to recommend it as a must visit. The management really do need to get it sorted.

Arrived at 3.08pm to be met with not a very friendly lady who informed us that they don't serve hot food on a Sunday after 3!!

Service was slow, two ladies who arrived after us were served before us! We also had to ask for knives to go with our forks and I had to buy crisps from the shop for my 5 year old daughter to go with her sandwich. Food good but we felt rushed at the end to pay our bill! 😳

User

Called on the way back from Brimham rocks. Bought a drink and ice cream and sat outside so my two toddlers didnt disturb other diners. The waitress came and took all the chairs and tables from around us and when she has finished moving everything she said you will have to leave now. I want to move your table. Now fair enough they did shut at 4 but they shouldn't have served us if they weren't giving us time to finish our drinks and ice cream. They were quick enough to take my £30. I had to throw the ice creams away and leave the drink. Awful. First time visiting. Won't go back or recommend.

User

Called in yesterday after a race in blubber house with 3 friends and it took nearly 30 minutes just to have our order taken!! We only came for coffee and cake as a recovery aid till we got home to the Lake District, then it took a while longer to get the order after being asked what we ordered? After reading some reviews I gather it's not normally like this we maybe caught it on an off day and maybe if we are over that way again we will try it again the shop is lovely though

User

Very disappointed with the service at the restaurant . waited about 45 minuts for the food no sign of any and there was no regret or apology from the staff . then complained to the man in charge , the ANSEWR was , what do you want me to do about it.

Well, may be they are not bothers to loose customers.

User

Really poor service and I was so disappointed to see Irish beef being sold in the shop. Food was pretty average and the menu was dull. Where was all the smoked stuff? I was expecting different kinds of fish and meat not just salmon, bacon and smoked kippers on the breakfast menu. Dire dining room. When the other side of the building has that lovely view why do customers have to endure a back yard?
