Middlesbrough & District Motor Club

Club Member Ernie Graves being presented with the Fred Rist Trophy by President, Doug Crosbie on 4th June 2019. The Trophy is awarded annually at the AGM to members who have assisted the Club. As well as assisting at all Club events, Ernie has put in hundreds of hours creating the splendid Memorabilia and Trophy rooms at our clubhouse, Coulby Manor, and is a driving force in continuing development of the Club and Clubhouse.

Middlesbrough DMC member, the talented Jack Fowler, competed in his first Manx Grand Prix in 2018 as a Newcomer, and also took part in the Lightweight race later in the week. Jack’s desire to race around the Iconic 37 ¾ mile Mountain course started some 15 years ago when visiting the Isle of Man for the TT races when 11 years of age, attending every TT since and some of the Classic TT’s.

At our well attended Presentation Evening on Friday 23rd November at Couly Manor, long standing MDMC member, Grant Sellars, was presented with the Wilkinson Sword Trophy by Middlesbrough DMC Ltd President, Doug Crosbie. This award is for Rider of the Year 2018, and in honour of his outstanding achievement competing for fifty years in the Manx Grand Prix. It should also be mentioned that Grant works extremely hard behind the scenes for the Club, organising and assisting with many events. A well deserved award
