In Late 2017 I received a letter from Parliament.
I was proudly invited by Sir Eric Pickles to write an article for the Parliamentary review 2018 in the Manufacturing & Services Sector.
... The Parliamentary Review's purpose is to raise standards by sharing best practice, with the perspectives from those invited helping produce a template for future policy reform. Organisations of all shapes and sizes to take part, since the perspectives of smaller businesses and how current policy impacts them, is vital to what the document aims to achieve. The 2018 Manufacturing document will be sent out to over 35,000 leading policymakers including MPs, Peers at the House of Lords, Chief Executives, Vice Presidents, Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology and Procurement Officers, Directors of Factory Operations, Engineering and Construction Directors and Managers, the Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group and many more. The majority of the distribution is specifically tailored around the representatives we have involved.
There are 20 sectors with 15 companies invited to each one so only 300 companies invited per year.
Part of the invite means I have been granted two tickets to the 2018 House of Commons Gala in the Cholmondeley Room which was held on the 22nd October. It was hosted by the MP Micheal Gove with guest speakers Andrew Neil and Julia Harper Brewer. I got the chance to meet leading executives from a range of industries as well as senior politicians from Westminster's past and present. In 2017, the notable figures from politics, sport and entertainment attended, including Nick Clegg, Frank Lampard, Michael Gove and Jeremy Vine.
The Cholmondeley Room is in Westminster with a private balcony looking over the river Thames. It has stunning night time views of the London Eye and the London skyline.
This was a once in a lifetime achievement to be invited to write in such a prestigious Parliamentary Document and to be invited to such a wonderful event In Westminster itself.
