If you’re reading this then you’re probably looking for some more information on my services to help with your photography requirements, so I'd like to take a few moments to introduce myself and to tell you a little more about my background.
My name‚Äôs Ryan, I‚Äôm a photographer and owner of Riff Raff Photography. I‚Äôve been running my business since 2013, but my love of photography began when I started working in retail at the young age of 16, before getting my hands on one of the first ‚Äúconsumer‚ÄĚ digital SLR‚Äôs, the Canon EOS 300D.
I was 18 at the time with only a small amount of photography experience, so I took the opportunity to learn the basics. I began by self-teaching, but my employer was offering several photography courses so, of course, I jumped at the chance to take part.
Most of my learning has been done through personal experience. I have a thirst for knowledge and I’m my own worst critic, which means I remain humble in my abilities, but take every bit of care and time to perfect my work from capturing your memories right the way through to editing.
Now 31, I’m proud to offer a professional wedding photography service. Whilst I love what I do, it wasn’t always photography at first…
At the age of 21 and with a few wedding photography shoots under my belt, I left retail to pursue a career in policing. I worked in a control room environment as well as on the front line for what was to be the next seven years. My eyes were opened to a whole new world. The challenges I faced were incredible with many life and death situations to deal with. I met and worked alongside some wonderfully talented people, and gained vast experience in dealing with a variety of situations.
Having seen and learned so much, I strongly believe that communication is the key to success. This proved to be true time and time again when wedding guests and family tell me that they admire my positive and approachable attitude to wedding photography. When dealing with people, I treat everyone with patience and respect. The biggest challenge is to not only ensure the bride and groom can enjoy their photography, but their guests, too.
So what about the photography? Well, taking photographs is only a small area of skill. In fact, taking photos accounts for only 15-20% of my time. The rest is being able to communicate effectively, maintaining various business aspects, and in editing photos.
This is why I believe my skills and experience separates me from a vast amount of my competition. You can be confident that I can handle pressure, difficult situations, and work with you to provide the best service possible. Oh, and you’ll receive some nice photos, too.

We couldn't recommend Ryan enough. He did our wedding video out in Italy this summer and we couldn't be happier with the results. All our friends and family have commented on how amazing the video is. We met with Ryan about a year ago to discuss what we would like our video to be like (quite chilled) and the end result had surpassed all our expectations! He's not just an amazing videographer but a genuinely lovely guy. You will have the most unbelievable video if you use him. Thank you Ryan from the bottom of our hearts. You captured the day fantastically and we can't stop watching it. We wish we could turn the clock back and do it all over again.
Used Ryan as our videographer for our wedding and from first point of contact through to receiving our video he has been absolutely amazing! Such a nice person to have around on our wedding day and blended in perfectly. So happy with our beautiful videos and he captured our wedding day in such a stunning way. Couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend!
Ryan was an absolute star. He has a very warm and calm manner and it helped us feel less self-conscious about getting our photo taken. The photos are just beautiful and caught all kinds of hilarious, touching and special moments. Ryan was very understanding too when our toddlers were being less then co-operative and he even managed to incorporate this into his work. We were quite sad to see Ryan leave at the end of the session as it felt like he had become one of the wedding party. Overall, very pleased that we chose RiffRaff and we would strongly recommend him to others.
