About Ripon Sailing Club

The Family Friendly Sailing Club

Ripon Sailing Club Description

Ripon Sailing Club was formed by a group of enthusiasts from the Ripon area in 1957, sailing initially on the river Ure at Langthorpe, Nr Boroughbridge. The intention of these early members was that it should be a "Family Club" with good fellowship as well as good sailing. We are pleased to say that this is still the aim today, and the number of youngsters and families sailing at Farnham is testimony to that.

Few photos from last weekends 'One Big Day' event @ RSC!

We need an extra SBO or ASBO for Saturday 6 April 1245-1700 to cover improvers.
Ideal opportunity for a newly qualified PB2 to get some extra driving hours in or for a new member to ‘see what it’s all about’ as ASBO.
Please let us know.
... Thanks. The Coaching Team.

A big thank you to all the competitors and volunteers at today's Streaker and Solo open meeting. I was sorry to miss the event myself, but I will look forward to reading the reports and seeing the pictures! I was delighted to see this shot of club regular Steve leading race 3 away from the start line in the solo fleet! Well done to everyone!! Jamie, Commodore.

One massive celebration of Youth sailing!

Our annual open day, come down and have a taster sail with one of our club instructors, take a ride on one of our powerboats, talk to members and the club committee about joining the club, learning to sail or race with us, find out about how the sailing lifestyle can positively impact your family and find out about our membership offers.
Our galley will be open providing snacks, lunches and refreshments. We have ample free parking and there will be lots to see & do on the day.
If you wish to have a taster sail, please bring a complete change of clothes with you, including a towel - just in case!

Don't forget we are running an RYA First Aid Course on Saturday 27 April at the club. Run by the amazing Adam, he'll teach you to tie bandages and spot a splinter by the end of the day (plus a lot more stuff too)!
Suitable for anyone over the age of 14. If you are thinking about doing your Dinghy Instructor or Race Coach course this year then you need to do this course and if you are already qualified don't forget to check when your certificate runs out as your teaching ...qualification isn't valid without an up to date first aid certificate.
Assistant Instructors don't need this qualification but the club encourages everyone who is planning on doing their AI to do this course too.
Great fun and really useful course.
