The trust's workforce of almost 9, 000 provides a range of specialist regional services to 1. 5million people in the Tees Valley and parts of Durham, North Yorkshire and Cumbria, with a particular expertise in heart disease, trauma, neurosciences, renal services, cancer services and spinal injuries.

Callum Johnson, a senior physiotherapist at Redcar Hospital, has walked over 180 miles in ten days to raise funds for Alzheimer’s UK. Callum completed Wainwright's Coast to Coast leaving St. Bees in Cumbria at 9.30am on 20 April and arriving at Robin Hood's Bay at 12.30pm on 29 April.
Callum said: “To date it was the toughest thing I've ever done! I have chosen to raise money for Alzheimer’s research, because my friend recently moved back home to support her mother who has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (early onset).”

Flu champions at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are celebrating after vaccinating 80.4% of frontline healthcare staff this year – a trust record!
The previous record across The James Cook University Hospital, Friarage Hospital and the trust’s community services was 76.9% in 2016-17.
This year the team hit the road with its “Getting to you before the flu” campaign to provide flu jabs at more places than ever before.
