We had a couple of visitors today at Spuds and Berries. A pair of Oyster catcher birds who return annually casually walking up and down our strawberry beds whilst we were tending them. Why not see if you can spot them too. They can usually be seen walking the top of our polytunnel. Happy bird watching! 🍓🐝🐧🦆🥦🍋

The bees are busy in our polytunnel today! They help us grow some juicy and delicious strawberries. In the meantime we’ve got the best Belgian strawberries available in our farm shop. Our polytunnel strawberries are coming on nicely. We are currently allowing the bees to do their work and pollinate the plants ready for some delicious fruit. Went for food and drinks today. Food was absolutely gorgeous, generous portions and extremely tasty. Also went in the shop for a few bits to take home. The lady serving was really welcoming, friendly and very helpful when I was undecided between a few different local produce from gin to nibbles to take him. Definitely recommend this place.

Went for brekkie yesterday and loved it.

Really lovely. Bacon was of the upmost quality and sausages were a delight. Roasted vine tomatoes were delicious. Mushrooms and black pudding fab as well. Beautifully presented and cooked fresh to order. Lashings of hot coffee finished it off a treat.

Our lass loved her breakfast muffin which was crammed with bacon and sausage and a runny egg.

All served with a smile by lovely staff.

Well recommended. Deffo a return .

Went for afternoon tea with my 2 daughters and my 2 sisters it was delicious!.

We where well looked after ,glad we booked as it was understandably busy .

As I am the only one who lives locally so have been here before the others where comparing it to there local places and all agreed it was so much better! Well worth there journey .

Also visited the farm shop for some lovely local produce, thank you x

We called in for a look as we were passing through the village,The farm shop is a really lovely shop, we picked strawberry’s & thought what a brilliant idea to grow them up a height, No back breaking task picking from ground height

We also sat in the seating area outside & enjoyed one of their ice cream cones

Thank you so much for the burns night meal absolutely beautiful. Every course was well presented and the taste and textures were great.

Suggestion...it would be nice to have the option of the coffee served in a caffitare with cream and may be a homemade short bread or chocolate. Thanks again....Valentines next!.

Myself,my husband & my 6 year old daughter paid our 1st visit yesterday to the restaurant for lunch after buying vegetables in the farm shop. All staff were friendly & helpful from the farm shop to the restaurant. I chose the trio of sausages,my husband chose the beef burger & my daughter chose a tuna sandwich. All the food was well presented & was absolutely yummy,my daughter said it was the best tuna sandwich ever. We left with full tummies & empty plates & will definitely be returning. The vegetables that we bought from the farm shop were top notch too.

My sister and my friend had lunch at spuds and berries we had fish and chips the chips were home made and the fish and batter was to die for!!!! Staff were lovely as it was our first visit we will definatly visit again soon.

Me and Rozzer popped here today for a peeps round the shop...some lovely bits in there and then had a bite to eat...

Rozzer plumped for a sandwich and a portion of chips ...i had the cheeseboard which we could have shared...very generous and delicious xx will definitely go again just for that!!

Lovely restaurant and shop. The Farmer's platter was fantastic, lovely homemade pie and scotch egg and great value for a hearty cold lunch. The shop was great too, We'll definitely be back�

I went today at lunch time for the first time with my son.He had the burger and I had the steak in ciabatta served with chips . Both meals were lovely and as we we were too full for dessert we took home a slice of lovely cheesecake for later . The service was excellent We then went into the shop to have a look we came out with eggs strawberries and sausage rolls The lady in the shop was lovely and very helpful We will definitely be back

I came here today after winning a competition for 4 people to eat a 3 course meal at the spuds and berries. It was a very nice meal very nice place to eat. The staff were fantastic very friendly and chatty which we liked. Would defiantly recommend people to eat here and would return myself. They deserve every star of the 5 star review.

Had my sons christening there today and everything was absolutely fantastic!! We arrived to all the staff welcoming us and our guests and congratulating my little boy on his day. They’d set up the restaurant for me which meant I didn’t have to worry and when I arrived it was perfect they’d thought of everything, even down to a present table (which I’d forgot to mention)

The food was presented lovely and once I said everyone was ready for food they unwrapped it in seconds and brought all the hot food out. EVERYONE was in love with the food, the sausage rolls especially. The service was impeccable and can not fault the attentive staff, we was never rushed out or pushed to leave like other places would do when there’s only a few left. All in all it was fantastic, great staff, great food. Me and a few other guests will be coming to this hidden treasure again. Thank you spuds and berries for making my baby boys day perfect

Had a fabulous meal tonight from the good Friday fish and chip menu.

Wonderful friendly service, made us feel very welcome and humble after what they have had to over come this week!

Credit to them for not letting such a heartbreaking ordeal get them down.

Looking forward to many more visits to spuds and berries in the future.

Everything you need from a nice day out. Lovely view whilst eating lunch. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. Potion size was generous, everything cooked fresh and very tasty.

Been so many times and love taking family - fab food and nice staff

We had our work Christmas meal at Spuds and Berries last night and it was lovely. Great food and great service and it was a shame the restaurant wasn't full considering the time of year. We ended up on two tables and it would have been better if we could have sat together as we were the only people there! My main criticism would be the cheap crackers - I think you might want to splash out on some nicer ones and also add things such as having water jugs on the tables but on the whole it was a great evening and we would not hesitate to come again. Thank you!

Love this place. I often take my mum here. Their homemade chips are just the best. The only thing that I've been disappointed with - each time I've had some - are the cakes, as they've been overbaked and a little dry - which is such a shame as I bloody love cake! Overall though, good food, great location, and lovely staff. Will be returning time and again.

My only negative is i ordered a decaf latte and it really wasnt it was just a very strong frothy coffee (i have a caffine allergy but its okay i appreciate not everywhere does decaf and i have allergy tablets on my persons constantly)

But it was still a nice cuppa

Went today as passing by chance , around 1pm thought we’d sit outside worth the kids and have some lunch, the staff were running around like headless chickens, I had to ask twice for someone to take out orders - tried to order ‘prosecco afternoon tea’ with my mum as a treat - only to be told they done serve that til 2pm !!! I said why- it’s only an hour away- they said they were busy with lunch orders , I can’t see how making hot lunches is any quicker than putting together a platter of sandwiches and a scone with cream and jam ??!!!!!!!! So then I said I’ll just have a toasted teacake then - oh no that stopped at 11am in the breakfast menu - I wasn’t allowed that either ! So we ordered a tuna panini- so in essence they’d rather sell us a £6 panini then the £15 a head prosecco afternoon tea that would have made them £30 ��!!

THe guy running the floor didn’t seem helpful not personable, saying that we’re busy - what I don’t get about these cafes/ restaurants is why complain when it’s busy - that’s what you want and need to run a business , it’s Saturday lunchtime of course it’s going to be busy. Anyway took ages and I mean ages for the food to arrive, we were sat outside so the kids played in the garden, but everyone was complaining - all the tables sat near us outside . Anyway the food arrived at 1:50 (2 tuna paninis that’s all we ordered /apart from drinks) so I said I may as well have waited 10 more minuets to order the afternoon tea then hadn’t I- joking around- the guy said ‘well no actually as there would have been a long wait on that too’ ... tuna panini horrible - slapped filled with fat to much mayo in the tuna mix - just awful I wish we’d had left in the beginning when we could order what we wanted. Paying the bill was a joke too, no one came or so we went to the shop part to try and pay as my Kim had got some bits and pieces from the shop side - so fornit to all go on one bill - we’ll you’d have thought we’d asked them to solve the most demanding mathematical task ever - just a complete joke of a place would not recommend and they definitely have issues on the running of the floor - they need a trouble shooter to go in and let them know where hey are going wrong.
