Sunday morning Net Recovery at low water.
Take care out there.....NO WAVE DODGING....please!
Lovely morning for some joint training with our neighbours from Redcar.
Launched at 5:15pm after reports of two elderly persons and 3 dogs cut off by the tide at Runswick Bay. An extensive search by Lifeboat, Coastguards and the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter took place. At 6:38pm a call was received that the casualties had made their way to safety and were safe at a property inland. The lifeboat returned to Staithes at 7pm.
Launched to day at 11:35am....
Net recovery this morning.
Strong Northerly winds + high spring tides = dangerous waves. Stay safe out there!!
Support for the RNLI comes from all over the country...thanks to these guys at GAC!
A very big thank you to Janet for her generous donation! π
Come and join us for our annual fundraising weekend. Action packed and fun for all the family....see you there!
Launched at 7 am today after a fishing boat broke down two miles off Boulby. The vessel, with three men on board, was successfully towed into Staithes harbour.
Launched at 1235 after concern was raised for a microlight aircraft that was following the coast and disappeared from view below cliff level. The lifeboat crew searched from Staithes to Sandsend. Meanwhile Coastguard teams searched the cliff paths and the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter searched the area too. The helicopter located the microlight flying safely over Scarborough. As always better to be safe than sorry and the first informant did exactly the right thing by dialling 999 and talking to the Coastguard π
We had a visit from James and Belinda Richardson last night. They are visiting every single RNLI lifeboat station in 911 hours in their own Porsche 911.
Have a safe journey guys!

Hartlepool ALB commences towing the vessel after we handed over.
Launched at 1215 to the assistance of a fishing vessel from Hartlepool which had broken down 4 miles NW of Staithes. Located the vessel and towed towards the river Tees and passed the tow to Hartlepool ALB which then towed the vessel to Hartlepool. We returned to Staithes at 1420.
We canβt thank the North Skelton Band enough. Every year they support us with fantastic music...Thanks guys and girls π
Once again we canβt thank you all enough for your continued support. A difficult weekend tinged with sadness but with your help we managed to raise over Β£14,000!!! That goes a very long way in training and equipping our crew so that we can go on and give the best help we can when the call comes in. THANK YOU π
Was great to see Stormy Stan at the Duck Race!
Stormy Stan showing us all how to Floss after the Duck Race π
Super weekend of fun-raising and fund-raising. You all do a fabulous job and we hope you raised thousands.
Splendid! A great weekend for all and superb fund-raiser too.
Our hero's the Staithes & Runswick Lifeboat guys - thank you xxx
It's the small things. Our 3 year old daughter loved the ride on lifeboat at Staithes but the extras (helmet & life preserver) made for some memorable photos for us. Words cannot describe the work you do, thank you so much.
I am at a loss as to how some people have not given you all five stars, putting your lives at risk to help others in trouble deserves so much credit and thanks.
Great place . lovely People . Deffo coming back ....
Great life boat weekend. Only manage to attend the Saturday this year. But was fabulous, never seen the beach so busy! Entertainment on the night was great for adults and the kids. And once again the fireworks was great. Same again next year
First time at the Lifeboat weekend, but won't be the last! Great weekend for a good cause, looking forward to next year's.
