We set off to our early Spring break in a luxurious lodge in the North Yorks countryside on a cold, damp, March morning. Snow had been forecast and we had doubts that maybe it was too early in the season for this kind of holiday. It was our first time in a lodge.



We arrived at lunchtime and any doubts we had soon disappeared. This was obviously a holiday destination for any season. Our lodge was 1 of 6 nestling in a stunning large open plot completely surrounded by a woodland of tall willowy trees. The setting was so calm and peaceful. All the lodges were on stilts, blending in magnificently with the surrounding countryside.



As we walked into our lodge we were speechless, apart from “wow” as we looked around.



The spacious lounge/dining area was an eclectic mix of contemporary/retro decor. Lots of leather and wood gave it a “ranch style” feel. There was a fantastic revolving wood burner in the corner which came with a good supply of logs and a large TV screen with a PS4 and a supply of computer games. An enormous dining table was towards the back of the room near to the walls of patio doors which completely opened back for outdoor dining in the warmer months.



The ultra modern kitchen contained everything you could think off, from slow cooker to food mixer to coffee machine. There was a brilliant fridge freezer and dishwasher along with a washing machine and dryer. There was a welcome basket of local Yorkshire fare.



The 3 double en suite bedrooms had queen size beds. The furnishings were all very high quality and each bedroom decorated beautifully. Bathrobes, slippers and towels were in abundance and all were soft and luxurious.



The large sauna was near to the bedrooms also with an ample supply of towels.



It was like a home from home and we soon settled in. Outside was a large raised decking area and lots of outdoor furniture, loungers, settees etc for the warmer months. We spent the evening in the hot tub, admiring the clear night sky, winding down and enjoying the atmosphere with a glass of prosecco!



The following day our children joined us along with their grandparents. The snow also started to come down.Thankfully the lodge was extremely warm and cosy. The spaciousness of the living areas meant there was plenty of room for all of us to move around easily. Everyone was keen to help in the fantastic kitchen.



We all used the hot tub, the snow was swirling around our heads turning it into a magical winter wonderland.( What a beautiful place it would be to spend Christmas there). The children were having great fun running from the hot tub then to lying in the snow and back again.



Later we all got nice and warm again in the sauna and then we all snuggled up, relaxing in front of the roaring fire.



The following day we had a fantastic walk through the snow covered forest. Living in a woodland setting is supposed to improve your health, reducing stress and anxiety and this certainly worked for all of us. We didn’t want to leave, we could have stayed there forever. Everything in the lodge was immaculately presented, tasteful, very high quality and the ultimate in luxury and we all went home feeling we had all had a brilliant time.

We had the most amazing stay here at these wonderful LUXURY lodges. Myself and 5 girls friends had a great time exploring the area but the best times were spent relaxing in the hot tub, sauna, cooking and generally drinking, chatting, reminiscing and a little dancing on the table!!!!! The only thing I could find they didn't have was a cocktail maker (which we needed) as a thank you for a wonderful stay I bought one for each lodge!!! Make sure you take your ingredients for an espresso martinis or pina colada the fridge does crushed ice so a real bonus!!!!!! Xx

Truly an amazing place to holiday.. What more could we ask for a good nights sleep in a beautiful bed. Peaceful ,warm and all top notch. The hot tub was just the "icing on the cake" and the cake was delicious and very moreish ....We will be returning . Thank you to all the Team who made our stay so memorable.

Stayed in the Woodpecker Lodge last weekend, and what a treat it was! No expense has been spared with these lodges. Everything is of the highest quality and in immaculate condition. Its a peaceful retreat away from it all yet just a 10 minute drive to the beautiful village of Helmsley with up market cafés, restaurants and boutique shops. We were blessed with great weather and after a long day of being a tourist in our home county we headed to the sauna and huge hot tub with a glass of wine in hand to unwind followed by a family BBQ on the decking. Dave the taxi driver who took us on our complimentary ride to The Fairfax Arms for dinner was such a lovely man and full of local knowledge. We were traveling as a family of 6 adults and 1 infant. We had requested a cot and high chair upon booking which of course were ready and waiting for us on arrival. The telephone call received a few days before our arrival to go over our booking shows the eye for detail that the owners have. If you are looking for a luxury weekend away in secluded surroundings with nature and Yorkshire's most beautiful villages to explore right on your doorstep then this is the place for you!

Stayed here for New Year and it was amazing, relaxing and a perfect environment. I would highly recommend this place.

Our second stay here at Studford and once again it didn't disappoint.

This time in Lodge 6 very secluded.

We are already booked to return end of March and can't wait.

Oh.... and I was delighted find a slow cooker so left a chilli on for the day whilst going out for the day

My Daughter & Son-in-law took me here after my husbands funeral in February this year,it was the tonic I needed , fabulous place to be Grandchildren loved , would definitely stay again, don’t need a reason to go, they even taxied us to two beautiful pubs where we had delicious food �����

Love studford, a devout regular, could be in Barbados right now on honeymoon but we chose this beautiful place. Lovely people, lovely accommodation but ever so slightly disappointed by lack of champers in welcome basket for the newly weds �!! Mattie you're a true but awesome Yorkshire man �!! Highly recommend this place �

Just been here to celebrate our Sons birthday. We'v been to a few lodges/log cabins but none are a patch on these. Everything has been well thought out and furniture and fittings are all top spec. Even has a remote for the blinds (its the little things in life lol). All the staff were very friendly and helpful even posting back to us our sons firestick which he left. We highly recommend a stay here and shall be going back ourselfs.

I stayed here last week with my fiancée and our 2 kids, the lodge was amazing and so relaxing. We loved the sauna and hot tub, and it's so peaceful at night time. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, we are already looking to book up again. Keep up the good work guys.

I can’t explain enough how amazing these lodges are! Literally everything has been thought about, we took my dad here for his 60th this weekend as a surprise and we’ve all said it has been the best holiday ever. We were blessed with amazing weather and took advantage of the games left for us in the lodge. The chauffeur ride to the Fairfax Arms was a brilliant touch and the food was delicious. We also used Sophie from a local nearby company called The Bakehouse Barn who baked, decorated and delivered the cake to the pub, thanks Sophie. Thank you to all the staff there who helped with the surprise cake too.

This is our second visit to the lodges now and we will definitely be returning again.

Had an amazing 4 night stay. What a fabulous place. Pure luxury!! Brilliant setting and surroundings. The lodges are completely amazing and the staff can't do enough to help. The complimentary taxi service to the Fairfax Arms (and back) on our last night just rounded off a super break. We'll definitely be back!

Had a great week staying at Studfird lodges with the family - the lodge had everything and more and everyone very friendly and helpful, free courtesy minibus to take you out and pick you up was also very useful 🍾🍺🥙🥗🍺 very nice area to explore and hopefully be back again.

Couldn't recommend this place enough , we booked a lodge for 4 nights for my 30th birthday and had a brilliant , relaxing 4 days. 5* quality . Already tried to book for next Xmas and new year but unfortunately they are booked up already, Will definitely be booking to come back.

Absolutely five star lodges, from the greeting when we arrived and the equipment in the lodge. The staff cannot do enough for you. Took advantage of the free mini bus service to the White Swan for a meal, again staff couldn’t do enough for you and excellent food ❤️❤️ We will definitely be returning.
