the staff at the Friars head were very welcoming when we arrived. We ordered our drinks and were taken to our table. My friend has a number of allergies so she was struggling with the menu. She told the waitress of her allergies, and the chef was very accommodating with her requirements. Very impressed I have to say.

The food was cooked to perfection. The bar staff even phoned a taxi for us to get home. 10/10 for the decor too. It looks amazing. We will definitely be back

Without a shadow of a doubt the best pub we have been in for years - beautiful interior, nice pint , excellent food and the staff are brilliant- topped of with cracking entertainment in form of quiz and higher or lower!! Great night

We had “The Tunstall xmas party”

-last night -over 40 of us having Xmas meal and house disco in function room. From speaking with them to fix dates menus etc to leaving in the early hours of this morning - all was absolutely fantastic.

The place was festively yet subtly decked out for Xmas making the place even more inviting and cosy which it always is anyway.

The food was hot, tasty and delicious and service ran smoothly without a hitch.

The in house disco was fab , the lady more than accommodating to the many requests from us for music from a wide range of genres to cater for our age range from 8 - mid 70s

We had a great night but we always do when we get together as a family but the icing on the cake was the friendly welcome and the attentive but not intrusive service of the staff led by Fran - they were fantastic -thankyou from us whole all to the whole team not forgetting the catering staff who put on a meal which truly was delicious.

Can’t recommend the place highly enough be it for a party or lunch for 2 you will always be greeted warmly and your whole experience will be one you won’t forget.

We had the most stupendous meal here! Gorgeous wine, lamb and beef to die for and fabulous friendly service. We hope to be back very soon!!

The decor is delightful and very in keeping with a country/hunting lodge. Friendly helpful staff, varied quality food choice (it's not cheap but they aren't serving fish fingers and chips!) and dogs plus owners are welcome in certain areas inside, with a good size sheltered garden. Perfect!

Now this place is a little gem in the countryside, recently refurbished but retains the original charm and best of all the prices have stayed very reasonable considering its location. The food is delicious, hard to choose from the appetising selection, and the service has always been excellent. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area or passing through.

No kids after 9

I had the king prawns in garlic and chilli my husband had a large Yorkshire pudding with veg and 4 large sausage which were both gorgeous

Had a fantastic night on st. Patrick's day well done to Fran and the rest of the staff their. It was my first time staying on the camp site and going to the pub. The Irish dancers and the Irish band were amazing. I will definitely be going back again.

Brilliant night the bands were great could do without the long break between bands, the only down side is the price of the food, wish you would put bar meals on ie -: burgers, sausage, curry and of course chips at a reasonable price so people with families can stay and have a bite to eat, The food in the restaurant is excellent.
