14 teams took part in tonight's quiz (our 226th) but, via a tie break question for the 3 teams all scoring the high of 32 out of 50, there could only be one winner. Taking gold tonight was.....drum roll.........'The Craic'! Very well done Allan, Lyndsay & Co.
The rematch starts at 8pm next Tuesday 'Mrs Brown's Boys' & 'Mad Natters'! Brush up on your Film & TV, Musicals, Arts & Literature, Iconic Buildings and, of course, General Knowledge and the gold could be yours!

User

Well done to tonight's winning quiz team: Mrs Brown's Boys (Carrie Brown, Oliver Longstaff & crew)! 39 out of 50 scored with the highest score of the night for the Sport round. Great work!
Next week's Tuesday Quiz features question rounds on the Animal World and Words & Language amongst others. Your brain exercise class starts right here at 8pm!

NEW MOON LANDINGS!
New meats, cheeses & chutneys have been added to our menu - Sage Derby, Dutch Gouda, Blue Cheshire, Salami Milano, Plum chutney & more.
Then there's Ash's variety of tasty new soups and Tom's scrumptious pâté too. Both Moon Made from scratch right here in our pub kitchen.
... Our homemade sweets now include our new Moon Rock Roads (out of this world!) which complement Ash's incredible Victoria sponge muffins and chocolate brownies.
Katie's homemade gin & tonic ice cream is ever popular too but she's not yet tried a batch using our Moonfix chilli & lime gin (homemade too!). That could be one small step too far.

Sorry to report this but we've just been informed that Sam Downing's son has just broken his arm and is currently in hospital so Sam can't sing at The Half Moon tonight as planned. The log fires are of course roaring though, the beers and wines are flowing and food is being served until 10pm. Just no Sam. Sorry! x

User

Congratulations & high fives go to the "Follifoot Rejects" quiz team tonight for their excellent winning score of 47 out of 50. They scored maximum points in the TV & Film, Pot Luck and Dingbats rounds in this our 223rd Tuesday night quiz. Great work. Well played.
Next week's quiz features question rounds on Music and History amongst others. The prize money is there for the taking! Tuesdays @ 8pm.

We need two more ladies for our Ladies Tug of War team on Boxing Day. Anyone fancy blowing off the festive cobwebs with a light workout followed by free beer and food?! 12 noon start. Strong boots , strength and determination are all you need!

User

The traditional Knaresborough Boxing Day Tug of War across the River Nidd at Low Bridge is of course taking place again this year. From 12 noon you’ll be able to watch teams of drinkers from The Half Moon and The Mother Shipton Inn battle it out whilst you stand back, relax and enjoy a pint or perhaps a cheeky mulled wine. What better way to spend your Boxing Day?! The Mayor is the referee so it’ll be a good, clean fight!

User

Here are our Christmas Opening Hours. It’s late night shopping every night except Christmas Day when we close at 3pm! Gift Vouchers are on sale at the bar. You can eat, drink & Christmas shop from the comfort of the fireside. Job done!

Wonderful ambiance in this very inviting and friendly establishment. Loved the food on boards and the spiced parsnip soup is an absolute must. Warm welcome from very friendly approachable staff. Thank you we will be back.

User

We love this place ,great staff so friendly can't do enough for you and great beers and yummy food

User

Was a lovely end to our walk along Abbey Road. Pub very busy,as it was Christmas Day, but we still found a seat. Everyone was so friendly, that is the bar staff and customers. Defo plan to visit again.

User

Staff couldn't be more welcoming or friendly. Easily one of the best if not the best pint in knaresborough or its surrounding areas. Coupled with the open fires and selection of cheeses or meats it's hard to argue why this is a local favourite.

User

One of my favourite pubs in the area. Excellent staff, well kept hand pulled ales and the sharing platters are superb. Always a nice friendly welcoming atmosphere. Will be back very soon

User

Nice little pub good beer and a nice little beer garden at the back of the pub will visit when we are that way again

User

Lovely little pub. We had a lovely time and deletions foods with my husband. Thank you. Will go back again. May be to night

User

Love the Half Moon Free House, great food especially enjoy the cheese & meat board. Good selection of beers & hot drinks. Perfect location for a walk around Knaresborough & a restful sit with the dog in the courtyard with the heater, great for summer and winter visits!

User

Highly recommend, the ambiance is fantastic with log fires in winter and t-lights at night. The staff are great. It's very clean. The platters are good. The out door seating looks lovely with lights and heaters. I can truly say it's the best pub I have been in.

User

Have never been to The Half Moon before and I loved it. My friend lives round the corner from it and knows the owner, Matt, who has done a fantastic job turning this place around. It's beautifully done out and the lighting is very subdued, which I love. Didn't have time to sample the food, but it sounded amazing.

This is a great local pub and really welcoming. If only this were my local!!

User

Had a lovely fresh coffee and the most amazing cake in here today. Very relaxing, friendly and welcoming place. Highly recommend.

User

Friendly and great service, good beer, wine and gourmet cheese and meats menu which the kids ate too, nice atmosphere and clientele, and clean and tasteful feel throughout, why did we not go there sooner??? They have got it right.

User

Excellent pub, really friendly and welcoming to our whole family. The meat board, cheese board and humus are highly recommend. Beers were perfect, my only issue is I had to drive home so couldn’t stay all night. Definitely be back.

User

Been here a few times now as my sister lives here and we travel up from Northampton...and I can honestly say that this is one of the best, if not THE best pub in Knaresborough!! Always a wonderful welcome, an array of beers for the Hubs, a beautifully renovated establishment and jolly good fun! Could easily stay there all day/night!! Bravo and we look forward to coming again soon 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
