Very nice evening spent with friends having food and beer. The yorkshire beer that has a flavour of chocolate is delicious! Staff helpful and courteous.
Very friendly service. Beer was very well kept. Had haddock and chips which were served very promptly. Generous portions and I've not had a whiter, fresher fish. Highly recommend.
Upon arrival met by pleasant guy who showed us to our room & explained the facilities.
Came back to hotel at end of night for a few pints & went into basement for a Northern Soul night.
Friendly locals & good tunes ensured we had a good time into the small hours.
Room was comfortable with no noise until the trains start running.
Breakfast was cooked to order & was just how I like a full English.
Would recommend this pub to anyone visiting the town & surrounding area.
The mitre was very clean full English breakfast great staff very welcoming not much parking space but easy to get too location was central for shops pubs and restaurants well worth a visit x
Our second stay at the mitre and it was just as good as our first. Room was great and the breakfast was fantastic. Looking forward to our next stay.
Lovely clean rooms and the bed was spot on super comfy!! Lovely views of the area too, only downside is the parking but we found a 24 hour car park about a 5 minute walk away for 1.80 which was great! I would definitely recommend this place and the breakfast is one of the best I've had!!
Love this relaxed place, food is good , staff are great and best of all I can take my dog with me:

If you're lucky enough just to be in Knaresborough, then you might have just stepped off the train. Go though the exit, cross the road and boom, right in front of you! Great atmosphere, food, and drinks. Grab a pint, then set out on your day. Then grab another before you get back on the train.
Called in on a beautiful sunny day and had a bite to eat with some superb ales. The food was immaculate and delicious, the service relaxed and friendly.
I’d recommend it to anyone and will definitely call in next time I visit Knaresborough!
Brilliant pub and restaurant. We have just had two great parties there this weekend. Staff are super, Sam and Matt are so helpful and the chef Mike is great. The food is top quality, service could not be better and the location is superb. Xxx

My first ever stay at a pub that also offers accommodation. Travelling up from Bristol before heading up to Scotland. I thought this place was really good value for money and the room was of a very high standard. I had a very nice bed and the sheets smelt really fresh. WiFi worked a dream. I stayed in the “Blind Jack” room. The bathroom (although missing a piece of skirting board) was a very clean standard. Two trains went by though the night that I noticed but not loud enough to bother me. In the morning and breakfast served at 8:30 but was too late for us so landlord kindly did it for 8:00 so I could get away earlier. I had the poached eggs and really enjoyed them. Plenty of tea and juice too. Would I stay here again.....Yes. A really lovely place in a nice small town.

Good pub, been many a time, in my opinion it's the 2nd best pub in Knaresborough but only just beaten by the Half Moon which is a free house and not part of a chain. Ate in the Mitre and the food was lovely, especially the home made chips !! Beer pretty good but being a Market Town Tavern, quite pricey. A little niggle was they got our bill wrong and had we not checked it the difference was nearly 25% in their favour. Definitely recommended and a great location
Fantastic food and great service, only thing that let it down was there were no lights on so was a bit dark and had to eat with my coat on as it was so cold! Would deffo go back but in the summer
2nd visit to the Mitre... delicious food and very nice gins. A must visit on any trip to knaresborough
The smoked haddock was lovely but the vegetables were undercooked (too hard to cut) sent them back but they were no better second time around.
Called in for a drink and lunch,we ordered from the smaller portions with hand made chips mmmmm was ok but my god smaller portion really was small left hungry 😋☹️
