We are the Harrogate - Northallerton Region of the Wilf Ward Family Trust. The WWFT is a Charity providing support to people with learning disabilities.
The Wilf Ward Family Trust, Harrogate & Northallerton Description
The Wilf Ward Family Trust was founded in November 1986 to give relief to carers through the provision of residential respite units and day facilities. Our work began when our founding Trustees Wilf and Phyllis Ward established Isabella Court in Pickering as a Short Break service for people with disabilities. Since then The Trust has grown significantly and now offers a large range of supported living accommodation and residential care services, as well as specialist holiday accommodation.
We currently operate across the Yorkshire and Humber regions and employ over 1100 staff. We can offer jobs and career opportunities for positions including support workers and managers across more than 80 individual services.
We are committed to the principles of personalisation, involvement, inclusion & community engagement, and always place the people we support at the centre of all that we do.
We believe that by providing great living environments, we create a place of safety where individuals can experience meaningful opportunities, be involved in their community, and live independent lifestyles.

It’s an exciting time for the Wilf Ward Family Trust who are embracing the Active Support model for their customers and staff! Active support is a way of supporting people to be involved in every aspect of their lives. The people we support may choose activities such as making their own meals to being more involved in their daily chores in their home or in their gardens. It also includes supporting people to maintain good contact with their family and friends. Active Support will give our customer’s more control of their own care and support, helping individuals build their own identity and enhance their self-esteem.
