Concert on Saturday 4th May at 730pm Carperby Village Institute - Passamezzo ... This Merry Pleasant Spring: music, words and song for Springtime.
The programme consists of seasonal ballads, lutesongs, consort music, madrigals, dance melodies and readings from the British Isles during the 16th and 17th Centuries. It follows the season from the melting of the ice at the beginning of Spring, through maying, maypoles, Robin Hood, hobby horses and feasting, to the sheepshearing a...nd Whitsun holidays that mark the coming of Summer.
Also a quick preview of our piano recital coming in June with Dinara Klinton.

Our 2019 concert series starts on Saturday 13th April at Aysgarth Church ... going to be a great concert with a rarely performed version of Holst's Planets Suite four 4 hand piano (found in Holst's own handwriting in St Paul's Shool for Girls Hammersmith where Holst was director of music). Also including Saint Saens Carnival of the Animals this is really popular repertoire for classical music lovers and ideal to bring along friends who are not regular concert goers. Tickets £15 (£1 for U18/full time students).

Tickets can be purchased online, by telephone and by post as well as at the door but please be aware that some venues this year are quite small and are likely to sell out and so tickets may not be available at the door. Tickets are £15 (with £1 tickets for under 18s and full time students).
... We also have season tickets (available by post) for £75 which is a saving of £30 off individual tickets - ie. 7 concerts for the price of 5.
Our first concert is on Saturday 13th April at 7.30pm in St. Andrew's Church, Aysgarth and features pianists Robert Hunter and Zoe Mather performing Holst's astonishing four hand piano duet version of his Planets Suite. In the first half they will be performing an arrangement of Saint-Saen's ever popular Carnival of the Animals.
If you checked the 2019 preview previously available please not dates have not changed but two of the recitals have swapped dates and their programmes have changed.

Live concert from the Barbican in London featuring the premiere of Cheryl Frances-Hoad's "Last Man Standing" which was commissioned by the BBC.
It was lovely to have Fenella Humphreys and Cheryl Frances-Hoad staying in Wensleydale last year for a concert in Bainbridge as part of Wensleydale Concert Series.
... Really looking forward to hearing it.
