The winning entrant not only gets to name the tea rooms / cafe but will enjoy lunch for 4 as a prize!!

Calling all teachers! Our Teacher’s Pre-Visit to Scruton Station (DL7 0QN) on May 23rd is a great opportunity to come and find out about our award-winning school visit programme which is delivered from the beautifully-restored Victorian station at Scruton. Meet the Heritage Education Team, find out more about the curriculum-linked workshops on offer and find out how we can support your work in school with our outreach sessions and loans boxes. It’s a drop-in event 4:30-6pm and refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing you then.

Treat your top Dad to a scenic journey through the Yorkshire Dales all while enjoying a locally produced lunch served at your table of one of our heritage carriages. Our scenic lunch will consist of a selection of sandwiches, savoury pastries and cakes. Your lunch will be accompanied by unlimited tea and coffee and all the Dads on board will receive a bottle of Yorkshire Ale! There will also be a bar on board for additional drinks.
We will set of at 14.15 on the 16th June fro...m Leeming Bar Station and travel west up to Redmire with glorious views of Penhill before returning to Leeming Bar at 17.00 approximately. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure. If you have special dietary requirements please let us know.
Tickets are: Adult آ£32.50 Child – 12 years and under آ£17.50 (Pease note the child portions are half the size of adults) Under 3s Free (please note food will not be provided)

Heritage Education Programme Our first schools on the Railway’s Heritage Education Programme joined us this week, taking part in our award-winning 'Step Back in Time’ workshops. Pupils enjoyed dressing in period costume and helped us run the station, weighing, sorting and stamping parcels and found out about what life was like on a country station a century ago.

Where The Music Takes Us Congratulations to pupils from Leyburn Primary School for a stunning performance of their composition 'Where The Music Takes Us’ at Redmire Station this week. We were amazed by the range of different instruments you played and all the different sounds they made! Your music really made us feel like we were travelling on a train through the dale! Thank you for a really special performance. We hope you’ve enjoyed taking part in the project.

The newly restored BSO carriage went out on its first run on May 7th. Great Rail joined us and enjoyed Afternoon Tea on the carriage!

Darlington built Tornado returns to Wensleydale this Sunday!
We have scheduled services commencing 18th May until 2nd June and tickets are selling out.
We have just 35 seats left on our non-stop run from Northallerton West to Redmire on 31st May.
