The under 15s held their awards on Friday evening which means we can announce the club award winners.
Player(s) of the year - Jeremy Civil, Jake Noon and Ben Thompson (under 15s county players). Team of the year - 1st XV. Coach of the year - Jim Chapman.... Volunteer award - Tracy Cluderay.

Disappointment yesterday for the 1sts losing out in the cup semi final at Leeds Corinthians. Neither side handled well in the strong breeze and it was left to the Dale pack to take control. Captain and number 8 Tom Lawson was immense all game. Tries came from 2nd row Ewan Metcalfe and prop Gareth Laws, plus a penalty and conversion by Jack Reynard putting Dale 15- 12 ahead with 15 minutes to go. A yellow card put pressure on Dale and the hosts fullback stepped through for the... winning score on final play. 15- 22. It’s been a fantastic season. Winning Yorkshire 3 was the target and that was achieved.

Dale progressed into the Yorkshire Vase semi final yesterday with a comfortable win at Wibsey. Full back Fergus Chapman scored 2 tries and joins injured winger James Ashford on 24 for the season. Chapman put left winger Paul Smith in taking his tally to 16. Hooker Mark Dixon ran a try in and replacement Sam Brown scored his first try at 1st team level.... Jack Lawson took over kicking duties and slotted 3 conversions and a penalty. Final score 34- 14.

A great result for the U18s last night against a quality Ripon side watched on by many supporters including the seniors after training.
The final score was 12-10 with Dale coming out victorious
Tries by Toby Newton and Louis Hodge with Callum Robinson converting one.
... Coach Jake McRobert said afterwards “It was a very tough fixture but there was quality from both sides throughout the game. We took are two chances very well and defended honourably. We’re all looking forward to next week at their place”
The return fixture is at Ripon next Thursday 7:30pm Kick off.

Dale 1sts travelled to Rotherham yesterday and came away with 5 points. Fergus Chapman took his tally of tries to 22 for the season , just 2 behind James Ashford with the cup games to come. Other tries for Dave Wheeler, Paul Smith, Mark Dixon and Man of the match Will Reynolds. Carl Burnett converted 2. Final score 29- 5.... Great to see several Unicorns getting a run out in the 1sts including Sam Brown and Matthew Read who had fine games.
