Always seems eerily quiet in here after a show.
But that’s everything packed away and back ready for the liveries to play this evening.
I can’t believe April’s events are done, it seems two minutes since we were having a mad rush to get poles painted and everything ready for this season!
... Thanks for joining us today and an extra well done to those qualifying for the Trailblazers Championships this year. Make sure you let us know how you get on at them!
Defining Image Photography took the shots today so check them out for the snaps.
Next up is Team Showjumping on Saturday followed by Dressage and Trailblazer 2nd Rounds on Sunday. Entries close soon though!!!!

Details for Friday’s SJ Photos from Craig Ellis Photography. Check them out guys x

Finally had chance to catch up with messages and enquires after a pretty busy Easter Weekend at YEC Friday’s SJ was FAR busier than I expected, usual hectic Saturday with a new arrival to our livery, the lovely Mr Jones and his mum Frances. Followed by a very hot Show Cross day!
We got to meet a couple of lovely chaps Craig Ellis and Gerry Slade who joined us to take the snazzy snaps.
... As I don’t have Roy taking pics for us this season and I always like you all to get a memory snap to remember us by. You can still get one FREE photo from our photographers.
Defining Image Photography (Gerry) has the pics from todays Show Cross to get the free picture you choose the photo you want select it as social media download and enter the coupon code YECSC and it will give one photo for free!
www.definingimage.photography/buy-photos/ yecsc
I’ll post once I’ve got a heads up from Craig that he has the SJ ready.
SJ is next on the 28th which also includes our Trailblazers Second Rounds although the event is still open to all too.
See you soon Gem and the gang xx

❗️IMPORTANT ❗️ Hi everyone please note our vaccination policy as the pic attached. I have re posted this and deleted our previous post. Due to some comments just getting away from what WE are doing.
This post is for providing information to those actually coming to compete at YEC. ... Our policy is not open for suggestion or discussion it is what I and my liveries, OUR Vets and Animal Health Trust advise. Nor is how we implement it.
So far we have a had 2 competitions and everyone who has attended has shown full support of our policy.
If you feel that you don’t agree with our policy then please simply wait until we feel the current outbreak has become more under control and advise suggests WE can relax the rules to annuals again. Or wait until your annual booster slots in with our timeframe before coming over to us.
We would much rather not earn a few extra pennies than go against what we believe to be the right thing.
If you feel you would still rather not compete at YEC in the future because of our policy then we genuinely wish you all the best.
ALL comments POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE WILL BE DELETED FROM THIS POST.
Anyone who wants to double check their vaccinations please contact us directly.
Passports MUST be shown at the Show Office and approved BEFORE unloading any horses. Random ID checks throughout the day will be made.

Very nice and flexible yard for livery with super facilities. Shows are great and run weekly from April to November in super quarry arena with high quality fences. Friendly and supportive atmosphere; good catering and viewing facilities for non riders too.

User

Very much a hidden gem! Not tricky to find but I thought we were lost for a while (we weren't it just seemed like it!) Beautiful unique outdoor arena, indoor warm up was a bit dusty but wasn't busy. Great view of the action because of the nature of the quary location - well run and friendly atmosphere - I will be coming a lot more!

User

Really nice venue. Coped really well with the unexpectedly large number of entries - consulted with competitors about changes to the schedule. Professional yet friendly. My only suggestions would be a sign at the end of the lane to help 1st timers like us, and parking people facing downhill on the sloping field. Thank you for a good day out and lovely rosettes.

User

One of the best livery yards around. Such a great place, people are lovely, service is fabulous and the facilities are incredible xx

User

Lovely venue, amazing arena, fabulous spectators area with a great view of all the action, really helpful friendly staff with lots of advice and information, felt very welcome, tasty breakfast and bonus we got fabulous weather too xx

User

I went to the show jumping here yesterday and what a place! The arena is like no other, fab set of jumps and lovely people, a special mention to the lovely lady who takes the entries. The weather forecast was poor but turned out to be much better but there are lots of places to shelter and indoor warm up, we will definitely be back x

Gemma and her team have obviously put a lot of effort into making this such a beautiful and friendly venue. It’s one of my favourites. I have never seen an arena like it. Made in a quarry? Amazing! The seating view on the bales of straw is second to none, and I love the judges box too. I just can’t get over how stunning the place is. It’s obvious a lot of money has been spent to make it look so good. The staff are so down to earth and exceptionally kind & friendly. And even the rosettes are the best I’ve ever had at a show. I love how Gemma and her staff want us to give feed back to see how they can improve on things. And their insensitive’s to encourage people to return are brilliant. With a points system for championships at the end of the season and rider of the year. Who could resist coming. Me and my lovely riding buddy Tracey will be there at every opportunity to try and compete for the championships. My only critique would be that it runs a little slow, but I think this will be resolved as time goes on, I would be willing to come early and help out in the morning to put jumps up etc as I don’t jump till the afternoon and just love the staff. Especially the two ladies that take the entries. Forgot their names, but they are such fun and Anya and her little helpers in the ring, and even the cafe staff (husband & wife) were ace, and of course the lovely Gemma. She’s just lovely.

If asked what I would like, it’s for people to come along for the bigger classes. The 105 didn’t run because no-one wanted to do it. I was disappointed as I’ve just moved up to this level and need to do more of it. This isn’t down to the venue & staff, this is down to us competitors. So come on people, get your brave pants on and come and help me and my horse get better at the big class!

User

First visit today, brought 2 young horses and a new partnership. Facilities are excellent, the outdoor arena has to be seen to be believed, such a beautiful backdrop. Staff were helpful and welcoming, and the day was well organised. Course was well set out with nice jumps and when we went to buy photos we were told they would be online for us to have tomorrow FOC. Food was good and we will definitely be back!

User

First visit today and despite it being very busy they managed to keep most people happy. All staff very helpful and polite, especially Jill on entries who smiled her way through the day. Great rosettes too, will hopefully be back again soon. Well done.

User

First outing today on my young ex racer. Absolutely loved the place and the people: extremely helpful and kind. Fantastic facilities. Lovely cafe. Fantastic day we can't wait to come again x

User

Fantastic place. Lots of shade in his heat, lovely indoor and outdoor arenas. Very well run jumping competition and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Thank you, will definitely be back.

User

Fantastic livery facilities, instructors and staff. We enjoy being here as a family as everyone is so friendly and there is always someone available to lend a hand or offer advice. Lessons are structured to give clear understanding of what needs to be worked on but still manage to be fun!

Events at YEC are great fun, even if you aren't competing and the food is fab. We love that Gemma puts the jumps up the night before an event so there is no advantage for liveries and that makes for a really great competition!!

Bel (10 yr old) just starting in nervous and novice class gets lots of encouragement from staff to get in the ring and 'have a go' and its great to see her progress.

User

Fab day Show Jumping today. Venue is brilliant and all the staff were fantastic. To allow my niece back into the arena between classes to have a quick practice after loosing her confidence and only jumping one fence in her class after a fall in collecting ring was amazing! Thanks so much, can't wait for the next one.

User

Came at the weekend for Halloween jumping and was greeted warmly by all the staff and made to feel welcome by the liveries at the venue. Lovely arena and lovely atmosphere. Will be back next year for sure. The chaps there even helped a friend start her box when she left her lights switched on. First Class 😃

User

Been here today for the first time , what a fantastic place this is , friendly staff , arena is fabulous, amazing rosettes too , highly recommend to anyone,

User

Been here a few times now and what a lovely super well ran place with fab facilities. All the staff are kind and friendly, the arena is nice and big, a nice indoor warmup and yummy cafe on site.

Would defo recommend. xx

User

A truly wonderful and friendly place to compete. Gemma and her team are all very helpful, friendly and encouraging. The venue is spectacular with all the facilities you could ask for. Highly recommend this equestrian centre for competing x

User

Nice day at show on Sunday. But will not being going again. Don't agree that horses and ponys should b classed together when there is enough in the class.

Also don't agree with just paying out to 1st. Should pay to 3rd. Not bothered about the big rosette. Plenty off people I no have also agreed about the prize money should b down to third.

User

I really enjoyed the show jumping here today the arena and jumps are amazing. i found the staff very friendly and helpful. i and few people that i spoke to feel that the first class could have been split as it is very difficult for horses to beat the ponies. even if you had not placed to 6th in each section. Also there only being prize money to first I'm sure people would prefer it to go down the line you would still be one of the best paying shows if you split the fifty pound down. we all love to compete but as you are aware yourself it is not cheap with entry fees and diesel prices. Thanks again for a lovely
