Hi everyone, 3 of our well meaning but slightly unhinged Cub Leaders are heading up Slieve Donard in the middle of the night soon in order to raise some funds so that we can purchase new camping equipment. Registration night @ Rudolf Steiner School for Scouts, Cubs & Beavers for the upcoming year. Spaces are limited. Preference will be given to (I) returning young people, (2) those young people who can bring with them an adult volunteer.

We need a few better jokes than this to tell at our Group Camp weekend after next!

Our Scouts are meeting tomorrow evening (Tuesday 22nd May) from 7:30pm to 9pm as normal at Rudolf Steiner school. We plan to practice putting up tents in preparation for an upcoming camp taking place in a few weeks time! Details of the camp will be sent out to parents by the end of this week.

Our Scouts are looking forward to their Geocaching activity in Holywood town centre today! This has been organised and leaded by one of our Assistant Patrol Leaders for which he has been working towards gaining his Adventure Special Interest badge!

A few photos from the Backwoods training weekend that one of our leaders was on last weekend!

One of our Scout leaders is attending backwoods training this weekend at Tollymore Forest Park, Newcastle. The skills that they learn out amongst the trees will be brought back to the Scout Group starting next week. There will be plenty of learning and craic to be had I'm sure :)

Ahead of our Group Council Meeting this Monday, we are seeking nominations for a new Deputy Group Leader, a new Quartermaster and a new Spiritual Advisor to our Scout Group Council starting in June 2018.

Thanks to 18th Belfast, Holy Cross Ardoyne Scout Unit for joining with our Scouts last night at our regular Scouts meeting! Their Scouts seemed to enjoy themselves and worked hard at using flint + steel to build fires! They also learned a few new knots, which will definitely come in handy with future Scout meetings! Looking forward to future collaboration between our two Groups in the future!

Hope everyone enjoyed the Holywood May Day Bank Holiday Festival this year! Unfortunately our Scout Group could not be there this year due to lack of leaders, but if we can get more adult support within our group then we will make our return to the Holywood May Day Festival next year!

Great to network with some of the local Scout and Guide groups taking part in the stalls this year at the Annual May Day festival in Holywood! Hoping for more collaboration between our Groups in the near future :)

After participating in the County Shield last weekend, our Scouts will be able to pass on what they have learned to the rest of our troop tomorrow evening at our Scout meeting. Depending on the weather, we are planning to work on our fire building and hope to toast some marshmallows!
If the weather doesn't play ball tomorrow evening then we will practice our knot tying inside the hall for working towards our pioneering level 2 badge! The diagrams will be provided on the night just in case :)
