Action Ability Belfast

AAB promotes the social inclusion of people with a disability into their communities and further afield. We also support families and carers.

Action Ability Belfast has been to the forefront, developing high quality responsive services to meet the needs of local people with disabilities and their families since its inception in 1998. The project has been actively campaigning for the inclusion of disabled people within their own community and ensuring that they receive the support they need within ordinary structures of education, health, employment and social services etc.

in its infancy AAB provided services to adults with disabilities living in the Upper Springfield area however after a process of review it became apparent that we needed to extend our services throughout West Belfast to ensure we met the needs of the wider community.

Over the past number of years AAB has grew from strength to strength and is continually striving in excellence to ensure that the services it provides are of the highest quality and represent the best interests of people with disabilities. In 2003 with an investment of further funding we were able to extend our work further to include a range of services to meet the needs of children, young people and adults with a learning, physical or sensory disability living in West Belfast.

through socially inclusive needs-led community based programmes AAB empowers and supports local disabled people through offering an extensive range of services on a one to one or group basis.
