Acceptable Enterprises Larne (AEL) was established in 1999 and was the first Social Firm in Northern Ireland. We are Registered Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee.



AEL is a Social Firm providing disadvantaged people with training and employment opportunities, enhancing their lifestyle, and thus allowing them to operate more effectively in the community. Our aim is to develop sustainable businesses in which we can provide disadvantaged people with the skills, experience and confidence to find employment within the open labour market. We also aim to create employment within our own businesses for those we are seeking to help. The human well-being resource aspect of the organisation lies at the heart of its existence and it provides a critical service for the people and communities of the Larne and surrounding area.
