This masters level qualification required a lot more blood, sweat, tears, trips back & forth to London for exams and hours staring a computer screen writing a dissertation than I had anticipated...BUT having passed it and knowing that I am one of very few in UK/Ireland that hold this qualification makes it all worthwhile!! 😀

Traditional pancakes aren’t the most health conscious choice so here is an alternative to try...
... 🥞🥞 HEALTHY PANCAKES (makes 6 pancakes)
📍 Ingredients: 2 large bananas 2 large eggs, beaten 1 tsp chia seeds (optional) Coconut oil 2 pinches salt 1⁄2 tsp baking powder
📍 Preparation: Mash 3/4 of the bananas until smooth. Add the egg and beat well. Stir in the chia seeds, baking powder and salt. Heat a non-stick frying pan on a high heat and place a touch of coconut oil to both the pan and a spatula (helps when turning the pancakes). Turn the heat down to medium and pour some batter into the pan. Cook until golden brown on the underside (approx. one minute), then flip over and cook until golden brown on the other side (about 30 seconds). Serve warm – you can garnish with sliced banana, berries, nuts, agave nectar or honey.
Low-calorie, high-protein, gluten-free and wheat-free.... definitely a good choice!!

Up to 90% of the visible skin changes associated with ageing may be attributed to sun exposure. Long term exposure to sunlight or UV radiation results in premature ageing - premature wrinkling, sagging, laxity, thickened texture and hyperpigmentation (“age spots”).
The photo below is that of a truck driver which shows the significant damage caused by prolonged sun exposure - through the glass window!
... Sun exposure can also have more serious side effects. UV radiation causes DNA damage that may lead to mutations (abnormalities) in genes involved in the development of skin cancer. Therefore, along with other sun safety strategies, sunscreens that absorb or block UV radiation serve an important protective function.
The sum emits two types of harmful rays: 🔅 UVA - causes premature ageing (wrinkles, sun spots). These rays can pass through glass windows 🔅 UVB - causes sun burn. They can not pass through glass windows.
There is no safe way to tan! Every time you tan, you damage your skin. This damage speeds up the ageing process and increase your risk of developing skin cancer.
A study in Australia followed almost 1000 participants over 4 1/2 years - ageing ‘scores’ were recorded at the beginning and the end of the study. Half of the participants were advised to wear SPF (at least Factor 15) daily whilst the other half wore it sporadically. Results showed that those who wore sun protection daily had ageing scores 24% lower than those who wore it now and again.
SUN EXPOSURE IS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT CONTROLLABLE FACTOR IN SKIN AGEING!!
Sun protection should be worn DAILY! The sun emits harmful rays all year round. Even on a cloudy day up to 80% of the sun’s rays can penetrate your skin.
❌ Factors to remember: - Choose broad-spectrum cover (blocks UVA and UVB) - Wear at least Factor 30 - Apply it liberally

We have had a lot of new page followers recently so I thought I would tell you all a bit about myself...I know deciding to have any aesthetics treatment is a BIG decision so I always advise people to do their research - make sure your clinician is appropriately qualified, has the necessary training and experience!
I graduated from Medicine in 2004 and undertook postgraduate training in General Practice. I have been working as a GP since 2008 - a job I still thoroughly ...enjoy! I have always had an interest in aesthetics and decided to go to Harley Street, London in 2013 to complete further training in this field. My interest in aesthetic medicine has continued to grow since then.
Health Education England, following a review in 2016 when they looked at current practices and qualifications held by practitioners in this field, recommended that all aesthetic practitioners should hold a Level 7 (Master's level) postgraduate qualification so I am currently completing this...soon to be complete!! At present it is not mandatory to hold this, or any further qualification to carry out aesthetic procedures! However, I treat my aesthetics practice as I would anything else I do in medicine - I want to ensure that I am appropriately trained, practising safe & up to date skills and offering patients the highest level of care.
My client base has grown extensively in recent months - I have enjoyed meeting all my new clients and look forward to meeting you all again soon.
